Many Adult Children of Alcoholics feel stuck, lost, afraid, resentful and frustrated by their circumstances. Because they were raised by inebriated, denial based caretakers--they were denied a healthy mirroring of Self-Love, Self-Appreciation, and Unconditional Love for Self. When your caretakers deny you the nurturing you deserve, you go through life feeling as if you are ill--wrong--broken--and stained. The wounds these feelings create are deep, and shatter a child's much needed sense of safety. The ability to trust Self is lost, as the child presumes the angst within--is something he/she deserves.
Future adult relationships all stem from the programmed dysfunctional perceptions of ones childhood. ACoA's often times attract into their experience partners who are very much like one of their caretakers. Because all beings attract what they know--even if what they know is dysfunctional--until a being becomes truly AWARE of that which is unconsciously driving all of their conscious decisions as adults--life cannot unfold happily.
Here we explore what it means to make that which is unconscious conscious--so to heighten our understanding and thus awareness of Self.
As awarness of self is expanded--so to is the love of self--for as one will ultimately learn here--we ACoA's were never not enough,we are not our pasts, nor our dysfuntional thoughts.

Because this is an attraction based universe, and becasue thoughts create things--we wounded adult children of alcoholics and adults from dysfunctional homes--may not be aware--that by the very nature of the universe--we are attracting what we know.
If all that we know--is the result of dysfunction--then how can we ever hope to attract healthy circumstances into our lives?
If the very core of our belief systems are dysfunctional--then all that we think must be a bit skewed.
If what we think is skewed--then what we attract will also be skewed--or at least--our perception of that which we are experiencing will be.
To take control of our adult lives--Jung says, "that until that which is unconscious is made conscious" we cannot truly ever be healed. If we do not know what is causing us to attract unhealthy circumstances and or people into our lives, how can we ever hope to live an abundant, joyful, fulfilling life?
Listen here as bestselling author, speaker and coach, Lisa A. Romano explains how adult children of alcoholics, and all wounded adult children from dysfunctional homes are simply the law of attraction in action--and how one can change their life around, simply by paying more attention to what one 'thinks'.

I'll be talking with Andrea Cooley, The Content Queen! And here's what she says:
"Writing is something we all learn to do in school, so we often don’t think of hiring a professional when it comes to writing about our business – we know that subject intimately.
Often when we read our own words on a page, it sounds like Chop Sticks would on a piano. A professional writer knows how to interpret your subject and then choose and combine the right words to create a beautiful melody."
Tune in to listen to how she creates beautiful melodies for people.

I am Kathy Klotz-Guest, founder of Keeping it Human. This show airs most Thursdays at 3:30 PM PDT. Keeping it Human is about human speak, not marketing speak, that gets results. We focus on great tips and fun guests without the marketing BS. If you're looking for jargon-monoxide poisoning, we happily recommend our competition.
The key to great content is having an overarching company story and story strategy. Who are you in the world? How do you make a difference in customers' lives? Your story is a strategic GPS that drives your content. Without knowing your core story - your content has no cohesive glue.
Join me Thursday, October 3rd! We'll be talking about the power of a core story and how that can drive a 'human' content strategy.

Just over one year ago, Andrea Seabrook left a brilliant career as a Congressional correspondent for NPR and host of the weekend edition of All Things Considered to re-define political reporting by starting her own podcast, DecodeDC.
Rather than go hat in hand to another set of vested interests, Andrea successfully crowdfunded the venture garnering more than $100,000 by appealing to her listeners with a simple value proposition: “Washington is broken. You are not. Help DecodeDC report stories that really matter”
As a dizzying array of distributors, miners, and aggregators galvanize their resolve to commoditize content, there is a growing push back from content creators. The long held stigma of self-published books, self-released music, and independently produced film/video has all but disappeared as DIY has hit the mainstream hard.
Unlike most of the disruptions to legacy business models, this one is truly individual-centric. This has caused both traditional and VC backed organizations considerable difficulty in establishing a model to support their necessary levels of profit and growth.
Andrea joins Fred and Howard on The COIL to share insights on truly independent media, crowdfunding for change, and on being the brand.
We’ve all heard the saying, “content is king,” and recently we’ve been hearing “conversation is king.” But what about content marketing? We’re going to explore how the use of content is changing events and how you can use it to better market your events and organization. And tune in for a showcase of the trendiest trends around in Trendspotting with correspondent Chad Kaydo.
