THIS WEEK ON DDP RADIO
NUTRITIONIST NANCY GUBERTI
ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS ON CLEAN EATING, PROPER SUMMERTIME NUTRITION, AND HOW TO CARE FOR THOSE ALL-IMPORTANT ADRENAL GLANDS!
9 P.M. Wednesday, June 18
Is stress one of the most intimate relationships in your life right now? Chances are, then, that your adrenals are either working overtime or burnt out. Wednesday on DDP Radio, nutritionist and special guest Nancy Guberti will tell us why maintaining healthy adrenal glands is so important and what we can do to take better care of them. Nancy Guberti, M.S., C.N., is a metabolic and functional medicine specialist, certified nutritionist, Defeat Autism Now Practitioner, Gluten-Free Casein-Free (GFCF) diet counselor and healthy lifestyle coach who reports that many of her patients experience adrenal burnout from reasons ranging to jam-packed schedules, not getting enough sleep, and unhealthy food choices. She said the adrenal glands, which are no bigger than a walnut and located above each kidney, are part of the body's endocrine system and secrete more than 50 hormones. "Adrenal fatigue occurs when your adrenal glands cannot adequately meet the demands of
physical pain, inflammation, emotional or psychological stress resulting in body aches, fatigue, nervousness, sleep disturbances, trouble getting up in the morning, feeling rundown or overwhelmed, craving salty or sweet snacks, feeling more awake at night and digestive problems," explained Guberti. "People who train too hard, need stimulation from repeated coffee to stay awake, feel anger, fear, anxiety, sleep deprivation, chronic inflammation and toxic exposure can cause adrenal fatigue if not eating the right nourishing foods and getting enough sleep. Treating adrenal fatigue requires the whole-body approach addresses excess stress and unhealthy lifestyle habits."

The adrenals are two almond sized glands which sit on the top of the kidneys. Although they look pretty innocuous they control a great deal of vital hormone production in our body; a hormone which controls our blood pressure; hormones which help control our glucose levels; "stress" hormones; and reproductive hormones. If one lives a life whereby one "burns out" ones adrenal, problems can occur throughout the body. The AIMS physicians will be analyzing the frequent condition called "adrenal fatigue".

Hormone imbalance is an epidemic that people face all over the world every single day. The ravaging effects on a person's health can range from unexplained mood swings to severe insomnia, chronic pain, anxiety and panic attacks, low libido, depression, brain fog, and stubborn weight that won't budge, especially around the abdomen.
There are actually dozens of hormones required to help the human body to regulate properly.
Some of these hormones include insulin (blood sugar, from the pancreas), cortisol (the stress hormone, from the adrenals), and leptin (helps to regulate your body to know when its had enough food to eat), the all important thyroid hormone--and so many others.
Suffice it to say, if all focus is placed only on the sex hormones and not on the "every day" hormones, then it stands to reason that health care providers would commonly overlook certain tests to determine these imbalances.
Ironically, correcting imbalances via nutrition and natural means will often have the added benefit of organically balancing the sex hormones without the need to resort to the extreme of hormone replacement therapy.
Is your health care provider overlooking these tests? Or, if you are a practitioner, are you overlooking them for your clients?
Listen in and have your notepad ready as Dr. Ritamarie reveals the three most commonly overlooked tests for evaluating hormone imbalance.
Dr. Ritamarie is hosting a 3 day live conference to train practitioners called Scientific and Holistic Investigation of Nutritional Endocrinology (S.H.I.N.E.) and it is an event like no other.
