Currently adult adoptees, in most states are unable to request and receive, like any other U.S. Citizen, their original birth certificate. Before the sealing of adoptions, birth cetificates for adoptees were available to them when they turned 18.
The current law is archaic and cruel, considering that every other citizen of the US has the right to 'life, liberty and the pursuit' of happiness, except the ADULT ADOPTEE, who has become a SECOND CLASS CITIZEN.
I am an Adult Adoptee who is unable to get my original birth certificate without going through a 'Confididental intermediary', which I did, and, who was no help. I did not and do not have the money to go to lawyers and why should I? Why should any adoptee have to go through this insanity when everyone else only has to be a nominal fee to get their original birth certificate?
I have written a book, Skeletons in the Closet, that, as I speak, is being distributed in a downloadable format. You can visit my website, www.scribeintexas.com (you may have to put it in your address bar) and the link to my book will be listed.
I would like to film adoptees and include their stories in a book of how they and their families have been affected by not being able to find out about the detals of their birth. The film and book will be used to raise funds to promote the Adult Adoptee Reform Bill.
Please join me for the discussions and I hope to turn the radio show into an hour. I am not a radio host, but I am doing this to bring awareness to the public.
Please join host Pam Dixon Kroskie on her newly structured radio show. Pam produced a successful radio show for a National Non-Profit for over three years and over 70,000 listens. Her previous guests were Michael Reagan, Patti Hawn and Daryl McDaniels from RUN DMC just to name a few. Pam also is an author herself of a children's book "Jack and Emma's Adoptee Journey" Pam is also the President of HEAR- Hoosiers for Equal Access to Records- a non profit that has introduced legislation in Indiana- for adoptee rights.
Pam's first guest in this series will be Sherrie Eldridge:
A twice-reunited adoptee, Sherrie Eldridge is a straight-shooting, transparent, and compassionate author, speaker, and trainer in the field of adoption. Her books are research-based, yet woven within are poignant messages pounded out on the anvil of her own adoptee heart.
This is what makes Eldridge unique!
One adoptive parent said she had a beautiful heart because she had the courage to tell him what his daughter might experience.
Her first book, Twenty Things Adoptive Parents Need to Succeed, is required reading by many adoption agencies and universities. She has also authored six other books. Sherrie helps readers and listeners to understand the adopted child’s perspective on adoption and how to deepen connections between parent and child.
Sherrie has been married to Bob Eldridge for 49 years. They have 2 married daughters and six grandchildren. For more information: http://SherrieEldridge.com

A multitude of issues may arise once an individual becomes aware that they've been adopted. Feelings of grief, struggles with self-esteem and identity development issues are the more common. Statistics state that nearly 3 out of every 4 adopted children ages 0-5 are read to or sang to every day. It also states that well over half of all adopted children eat dinner with their families at least six days per week. The misconception: “Will the adopted child be loved as much as a biological child?” has been proven to be false. Celeste Seda, a native New Yorker, shares her story in a loving adoptive family. During this interview she reveals her life, expounds on her dreams and says her adoptive family has always made her feel that she is loved and has been supportive of her dreams to pursue a career in acting and modeling. www.celesteseda.com

Join us Wednesday August 19, 2015 with host Pam Kroskie and her guest Tim Kirkman. Tim produced the film Loggerheads and has a new film coming up called Lazy Eye.
Inspired by a true story, LOGGERHEADS follows the lives of three people: Grace, a birthmother searching for the son she gave up for adoption when she was a teenager; Mark, the son she relinquished, who makes a pilgrimage to the coast to rescue endangered sea turtles; and Elizabeth, Mark’s adoptive mother and a minister’s wife, who becomes concerned by the changes taking place in her suburban world. Set in three distinctive regions of North Carolina in three different years, the film examines the political and personal distress that happens in the lives of one adoption triad.
Shot on location in North Carolina, LOGGERHEADS stars Tess Harper, Bonnie Hunt, Kip Pardue, Michael Kelly, Chris Sarandon, Michael Learned, Robin Weigert, Trevor Gagnon, Ann Owens Pierce, Valerie Watkins, Joanne Pankow, Michael Esper and Kelly Mizell. It was distributed theatrically by Strand Releasing. LOGGERHEADS was produced by Gill Holland.

Jeffrey Togman is an Adoptee, American filmmaker and political scientist who teaches at Seton Hall University. His latest film, We're Not Blood, follows his own search for his birth parents, and had its world premiere at the San Francisco Documentary Festival.

LeAnne Parsons The Walk Your Talk Coach is honored to welcome Peter Shankman to her show this week!
Peter Shankman doesn't know how to sit still, and he blames that on his ADHD. But he blames his ADHD for all of his success. A three-time startup entrepreneur with the same number of successful exits under his belt, Peter believes that to be the best, you simply have to be better than everyone's expectations, and in the world of customer experience, that's not hard to do.
Peter is perhaps best known for founding Help a Reporter Out, (HARO,) which changed how journalists gather news and how public relations is done. He's the author of four books, two of which are bestsellers, including his latest, "Zombie Loyalists: Using Great Service to Create Rabid Fans." A born and raised NYC public school kid, he still resides in Manhattan with a wife 2-year-old child, and 15-year-old cat, and when he's not flying around the world giving speeches, or competing in Ironman Triathlons, he's jumping out of planes, as a licensed skydiver with over 500 jumps.
