My guest tonight is Joseph G. founder of rumradio.org. He has a compelling story to share about his own journey with alcohol abuse, and then the tragic consequences that befell his daughters, from the horror of their own addictions.
Drug and alcohol abuse is a "family disease," whether you're on the giving or receiving end. Addictive disorders often run in families, much like any other inherited disease. Joseph's story brings home, just how deadly this pattern can be.
In his quest for recovery, he created the site as a means to help others from going through what his family did. He also has his own Internet Radio program, that can be found on his site, or through Blog Talk Radio, if you search Rum Radio. We hope you can join us for this dramatic story of one family's journey, through addictions and recovery.
This site is not affiliated with any 12 Step group, though Joseph shares his experience, strength and hope as it relates to his program of recovery. If you or someone you know has a problem with alcohol or drugs, contact your local 12 Step office, Google the National hotline, and, or consult a professional for an evaluation and referral.

More than a few years ago a small group of parents began to meet in a therapists office. They talked about their struggles to stay sane while living with the insanity of their behaviorally or addictively challenged kids. They shared their fears, their shame, their struggles with difficult decisions and their small victories over staying out of the destructive vortex. Some of these folks started their own self-directed support group for parents and it has grown exponentially. Meet Marcia, Jeff and Beth to talk about the desperate need for parent support and recovery.

She is calling from Washington and has an awsome story. She wrote "I grew up in Seattle, Washington in a single-headed household. My mom
was full of so much love and tried her hardest to give me a beautiful
life. I never knew my father, he passed away when I was young due to a heroin overdose. I always felt there was something wrong with me since I never had a dad and this worthless self-limiting belief became engrained in me and acted as a driving force for many of my actions. When my mom and my step-dad divorced when I was almost in sixth grade, I became very angry. I began idolizing the criminals and gang-members in my community. I wanted their acceptance and in that process, I became very lost. I began using drugs and alcohol at this time and struggled with my addiction throughout my life. I was in and out of Juvenile Detention and as an adult, I found myself involved in the criminal justice system due to committing crimes to fuel my addiction." She had much more to tell, but tune in as we explore her life of recovery.

The NNIA network present's Recovery Radio Fresno with Louis Angel and guest Tillie.
The amazing woman has endured many trials and tribulations, and has still managed to survive. She wrote "Hi my name is Tillie, I was born in Xochimilco D.F. They say it's El Valle De Las Flores, sounds beautiful! The Valley of the Flower. I have been thru, sexual abuse after my mother's death to mental and physical abuse, that all led later to drug abuse just to function ...
There nothing nice about that, and the HARDEST thing for me was learning that I was still beautiful and still had a future.
This my story
Abuse happens in many forms, and it's a form of bondage. It's thing that people don't talk about, but it happens more then you think.
