Being the owner of a small business and working for yourself is a wonderfully empowering position in which to be. You get the freedom to create your vision - and the resulting reality - exactly as you please.
However, as in all other aspects of life, with all of that delicious freedom comes an equal amount of responsibility. And no doubt you’re really good at taking on huge loads of it if you’re like most business owners who want to be successful.
But there’s one place where you might just be like many of us who tend to be a tad irresponsible. And that’s in taking care of yourself.

We habitually view work and play as mutually exclusive opposites. But what if we didn’t? What if we could manifest whatever our heart desires from a place of fun, joy, and ease? What if having more fun could mean getting more done?
In the book, Hop, Skip, Jump: 75 Ways to Playfully Manifest a Meaningful Life (New World Library, November 15, 2014), creativity expert and bestselling author Marney Makridakis presents a blueprint for melding work and play into a single approach and shows how doing so can transform every aspect of our lives — from work to health to family to money, and beyond.
Marney explains that successful manifestation unfolds through the following three phases. However, the quality of time, energy, and pleasure experienced in each phase varies greatly, based on an individual’s natural tendencies and conscious choices:
Ø Hop – Focuses on exploring new beliefs.
Ø Skip — Helps us harness spontaneity, wonder, and love.
Ø Jump — Spurs us into inspired action.

We explore the stats of police shooting in the US. Read an except of a book
Confessions of a Police Officer
African-Americans were arrested at some of the highest rates in the country in Monmouth and Ocean counties, according to a review of FBI records.
The statistics for 2011-2012 show that in several Shore communities, blacks accounted for up to 44 percent of arrests in towns where the black population was less than 15 percent of total residents, according to the FBI data compiled by USA Today. Of the 19 local police departments that self-reported their arrest numbers to the FBI, the biggest disparities were seen at the Monmouth County Sheriff's Department and the Wall police department in Monmouth, and the Lakewood police department in Ocean. Is your state or city on this map? We will find out.
Abingdon Welch is unlike most CEOs. By the time she hit 22, she couldn’t wait any longer and finally earned her private pilots license after just 34 days of training.
Now 31, this young pilot has carried her adventurous spirit to the corporate world creating The Abingdon Company. The Abingdon Company began producing boutique and high-end timepieces for aviators and avid travelers since 2007.
While she dedicated much of her time to running her company, Abingdon still flies extensively. Her flying skills were made immortal from her performance as Ariel Tweto’s Flight Instructor on the Discovery channel’s reality show “Flying Wild Alaska” in 2012.
In early 2011, Ms. Welch became a certified SCUBA-diver, opening her world up not only to brand new adventure, but refreshing inspiration as well. In fact, Abingdon has spent the past 2 years working with women certified as master divers and scuba instructors to develop a new line of Dive Watches for The Abingdon Co. If the company office is empty these days, simply look up to the skies or deep into the seas and you'll be quick to find Abingdon Welch happily engaged in another adventure. TheAbingdonCo.com
