Today's encore presentation of the Auto Industry Insiders show has Philip Zelinger, the President of Ad Agency Online, LLC, interviewing a third generation "Car Guy" - Jeff Spreen, the GM and Owner of Spreen Honda in California.
Jeff's family history in the business started in 1952 at Bob Spreen Cadillac in Downey California. At that time they were the third largest Cadillac Dealer in the world. Spreen Honda starting serving the community in 1982 following the same customer first philosophy that built their first dealership.
According to Jeff, the secret to their success is best defined by their Mission Statement that says it all:
Spreen Honda is dedicated to perfecting the customer experience through continuous improvement of our processes and procedures. Spreen Honda embodies a true family experience for the discriminate customer. Our goal is for every customer to feel as though they truly enjoyed their experience whether it is in a car purchase or a simple oil change.
One of Jeff's main focuses over the years has been with computers. When he came to Spreen Honda in 2003 he applied his computer skills as the world moved online. Under Jeff’s leadership Spreen Honda has always ranked in the top 5 dealerships in new vehicle sales in CA., but they have been one of the first places people look for quality Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles..
Philip and Jeff will discuss best practices applied by Jeff in his varied self assigned areas of responsibility that include overseeing all day to day operations. The VOC Nation Radio Network traces its roots back to 2009 in suburban Philadelphia. Bruce Wirt took over the afternoon shift on the Voice America Health and Wellness Network and proclaimed himself, “your new ‘Voice of Choice’ in afternoon radio.” The V-O-C in VOC Nation was born.
Over the next 3 years, Wirt took his act to Philadelphia radio, eventually settling in at independently owned WNJC 1360AM. The VOC Nation Radio Network spun away from WNJC in October 2012 and took to the “cloud”, using their solid fan base to instantly become one of the most listened to mediums on the Internet. In 2014, VOC Nation merged with Brady Hicks' IN THE ROOM Internet Radio Network, giving the combined medium over 50,000 monthly listeners.
VOC Nation Radio streams live programming 7 days a week, and has forged partnerships with BlogTalkRadio, Stitcher Internet Radio, Podomatic, iTunes, and GoDaddy to bring daily live entertainment and downloadable podcasts to listeners worldwide. VOC Nation has over 100,000 twitter followers and has consistently ranked in the top 1% of downloadable podcasts as ranked by Podomatic, and in the top 5% of live streaming programming as ranked by Stitcher Internet Radio.

No matter what you call him - genius, recluse, friend, foe, outgoing, unapproachable, giving, kind, or thoughtful - there is so much more to Nova Scotia's J.P. Cormier beneath the surface. Celebrated as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, recording artist, teacher, collaborator, innovator, and award winner, J.P.’s talent is comparable to none. He’s praised in superlatives, but even these don’t do the man justice. The best way to get to know J.P. is to listen to his music. His latest song is called Hometown Battlefield.
Alberta's Don Gammie is country singer/songwriter from Lucknow, Ontario but has called Edmonton, Alberta home since 1994. When attending an open mic session where he received great response to his performance from fellow musicians, he was approached by Laurence Pugh to work together on a couple of original songs. Within days, Don was in a recording studio for the first time, with seasoned studio musicians. Don is attracted to and influenced by a wide range of music from soulful rock and alternative to Country and Indie. “Playing music is an astonishing thing. It feeds the soul - and success or not - mine will never be full,” he explains.
Mandy Ringdal is a singer/songwriter from Hawarden, Saskatchewan. She wrote her first song at 13 years of age about her trusty pair of Wrangler Jeans, and followed this with many poems and other literary works. For several years she focused on getting an education as a biologist and nurse. But a life changing diagnosis sent her on a different path. She moved back to the country after years of feeling unsettled in the city. It was during this time that she taught herself to play guitar and dove into songwriting. She began recording her first album in March of 2012. Mandy's latest release is called Love Knows What To Do.

Confessions of a Police Officer
African-Americans were arrested at some of the highest rates in the country in Monmouth and Ocean counties, according to a review of FBI records.
The statistics for 2011-2012 show that in several Shore communities, blacks accounted for up to 44 percent of arrests in towns where the black population was less than 15 percent of total residents, according to the FBI data compiled by USA Today. Of the 19 local police departments that self-reported their arrest numbers to the FBI, the biggest disparities were seen at the Monmouth County Sheriff's Department and the Wall police department in Monmouth, and the Lakewood police department in Ocean. Is your state or city on this map? We will find out.
