You may not have heard of most of the Native American artist that we show case, but their voice needs to be heard. If you are tired of the same old radio music rotation, this might be a nice change. Voices of the 1st Nation airs on 1440 AM WJJL in Western New York once a month. What you are listening to has already aired.

Mr. Dennis Maguire graduated from Santa Clara University he went to work on, THE LEGEND OF THE LONE RANGER, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Dennis spent 5 years building sets before Roger Rothstein, a producer, was kind enough to allow him to interview as the Set P.A. on the feature film, ONLY WHEN I LAUGH. Eventually, Dennis did 400 days as a Set P.A. and became a member of the Directors Guild of America as a 2nd Assistant Director. He moved up to 1st Assistant Director shortly after that and has enjoyed a successful career on many feature films, including: Angela's Ashes, Evita, Soldier, The Specialist, Patriot Games, Misery, The Scarlet Letter, Rambo III, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. More recently Dennis has been involved with THE MECHANIC, MEDALLION, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, STOLEN, and Leprechaun’s Revenge. More S. Carolina's Race for the 1st Congressional Distric
It's a nail-biter in the race for South Carolina's open Congressional seat in the 1st District. While many believe former Governor Mark Sanford is poised to win his old seat in Congress, most seem to agree Elizabeth Colbert-Busch could still pull out a victory if her "ground game" is solid and she managed to pull out more of her supporters to vote today.
We get more from Kendra Smith, a political science professor at the College of Charleston. We also talk to several voters to find out who they voted for, why they voted that way and what they want from the district's next representative. Then we'll talk to John Steinbegger, vice chair of the Charleston County Republican Party about why he's confident Sanford will prove victorious. We also visit the studio of ABC 4, the local ABC news affiliate and talk to Sam Tyson about the reports they are getting from the ground and why Elizabeth Colbert-Busch's name is on the same ballot multiple times.
