DANO - interview MINDFUL Music and Alien Sci-Fi Movie-Fact
OTHER WORLD RADIO About DANO - a.k.a. Dan O'Connor is a musician and filmmaker in the Science Fiction realm. His website, http://www.danosongs.com, contains a wide variety of musical styles that he makes available to folks who are working on media projects. His licensing terms are very generous. Some of his vocalized works have a lyrical style that has a mysterious and esoteric flair to them and Other World Radio has featured some of these works on some of the broadcasts.
DANO also is a filmmaker, who created an interesting short science fiction film, Zedic and the Crimson Born, on the them of the alien/human hybrid hypothesis. The short film can be viewed at http://www.alienscifimovie.com. He is currently working on an expanded version of this film into a full feature film.
TOPICS: IMAGINATION: Music, Science Fiction and Science Fact On this OWR show with DANO we will explore his music, kick back listening to some of his songs, get the backstory on some of the lyrics, talk about his upcoming projects but also talk about the broader topic of IMAGINATION. Imagination is a powerful manifestation tool that often has been denigrated with the phrase, "Oh, that's just your imagination." It seems socially permissible for children to navigate their world using their imaginations, but as we grow up, we are told that the world works a certain way and we better get a grip on that reality construct to succeed in life. Yet, the most important discoveries and insights into understanding our shared reality has been through the vehicle of imagination.

Filmmaker PJ Bracco of Red Hook Films
Part 2 of my series on NJ Filmmakers focuses on PJ Bracco of Red Hook Films. This NJ resident and alumni of Boston University’s College of Theatre Arts, holds a BFA in acting and is an award-winning actor/director who has worked in theatre and film from Boston to New York City. Some of his credits include Dopey in Balm in Gilead, Hamm in Endgame, Paul in the award-winning feature The Court, The Smoker in The Gambler’s Club, and Paul Raimo in Raimo’s Price. In 1997 he launched his company Red Hook Films, right out of his own living room in Brooklyn and has been developing and producing films ever since. Red Hook Films produces features, shorts, music videos and commercials (check out the ones for the Draft House in Long Branch and No Joe’s Café in Red Bank). We're in for a Long Night, a music video for the band The Waffle Stompers and another music video Lovers in London for the band Hollander, both premiered at the Garden State Film Festival this past April. PJ has been in front of the camera as an actor (acting reel) and behind the camera as producer, director, and editor, and we’ll find out what else. Actually we can add musician to this as well, but more on that during the interview. Exactly how do you launch a film production company from your home? This is just one of the many questions I’ll be asking PJ. After the interview, please check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for additional information.
