Our guest this morning is Demi Stevens, proprietor of Ortega 120 and Hey 19.
As one of the most renowned mixologists in the hospitality industry, Demi is a force to be reckoned with. She has successfully created cocktail menus that utilize unique ingredients that complement her restaurant’s dynamic food menus.
Demi’s first personal restaurant endeavor, Ortega 120 located in Redondo Beach, currently houses the “Best Classic Margarita,” as determined by LA Weekly. Ortega 120 has also been honored with awards such as “Diner’s Choice Winner” “Best Dinner Dates on a Budget,” and “Top 10 Mexican Restaurants in Los Angeles.”
Her most recent venture, Hey 19 Public House, is a “rustic American” themed restaurant and bar featuring craft cocktails and new-American, organic conscious, comfort food. Hey 19 opened its doors in Torrance in late 2014 and was instantly named one of the “Best New Restaurants of 2014” by Easy Reader.
With her “whiskey in a tea cup” attitude, mixology brilliance, the ability to understand both front and back house management of a restaurant, and dedicated guest and staff following, it is no wonder why every restaurant Demi touches turns to gold.
I’ve long been a fan of Ortega 120 and Hey 19 has become my go-to place for not just the food, but dancing! I’ve recently heard some rumors about other special events Demi has on the drawing board and can’t wait to hear more details!

On a single night in January 2014, 578,424 people were experiencing homelessness — meaning they were sleeping outside or in an emergency shelter or transitional housing program. From 2013 to 2014, a period of ongoing recovery from the Great Recession, overall homelessness decreased by 2.3 percent and homelessness decreased among every major subpopulation: unsheltered persons (10 percent), families (2.7 percent), chronically homeless individuals (2.5 percent), and veterans (10.5 percent).

The national rate of homelessness fell to 18.3 homeless people per 10,000 people in the general population, but the rate in individual states ranged from 120 in Washington, D.C. to 7 in Mississippi.
The rate of veteran homelessness continued its descent of the past several years to 25.5 homeless veterans per 10,000 veterans in the general population, but the rate in individual states ranged from 146 in Washington, D.C. to 9 in Virginia.
The majority of states had decreases in every major subpopulation: family homelessness (32 states), chronically homeless individuals (27 states), and veteran homelessness (28 states).

Ah, birthday celebrations! The one time per year that you can make things all about you coming into the world. The one time per year that the focus is solely on you and no one else. Everyone loves a good birthday party, right?
Well, not everyone. I don't make a big deal out of my birthday. I live each day as if it's my birthday, so although I'm appreciative of seeing another year, a celebration really isn't all that necessary. But I don't hate on those who with to "turn up" on theirs. At least not until it crosses the line from a birthday celebration to narcissism.
On tonight's show, we'll discuss how we celebrate birthdays. What do you do when you share a birthday with someone close? What do you do when your birthday is near a gift-giving holiday? What do you do when your birthday falls on the same day as an important event?
These things, Zone Coverage and more on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."
Show No. 511
Scheduled for 90-120 mins.
"what artist's produce isn't supposed to be taken and used as a guide" but sometime our intended use isn't always what transpires... my point is that NWA saw the destruction and they saw that the black community was lapping up every word and translating them literally and the results were catastrophic and they continued the reckless rhetoric.
We can debate whether they had some social responsibility if you want but the point I'm making right now is that their music represented gallons upon gallons of gasoline that was poured on an already smoldering fire in the ghetto—and it erupted into an out of control inferno.
