Shou;d Parents Get Involved In High School Recruiting Part III?

Sub Topis: What Can Parents Do?

Tonight on "The Coaches Corner Show" we will feature our special guest Coach Larry Dawson from Illinois Homewood Flossmoor High School. Larry is an ex- high school and collegiate student athlete that actually went through the recruiting process in Chicago, Illinois. We wiil be asking the coach what the recruiting process was like for him and his family. We will also have an opportunity to discuss what it is like as a coach working with the parents during the recruiting process. In order for us to offer advice we invite you the listeners to tune in and call in to the show so we can discuss this sensitive topic together. We again want to discuss the negative aspects of parents aggressively getting involved in their children recruiting process.

As parents we should feel obligated to best understand how we can protect our sons and daughters from making bad or poor chices and decisions during this important time of their young lives. Every year thousands of senior student athletes eagerly await opportunity to pick and choose the college that will allow them to fulfill their aspirations and goal in academics and athletics. We as parents must be the adult at the table to create balance and provide wisdom to avoid horrific consequences for our children,

As we always do, we invite you to tell your family, friends and neighbors but especially your student athletes to tune in and call in with your questions or comments to 646-716-8531.
