12 Second Impact! Live from the Impact Bootcamp with the NicheProf - 24 August 2008

I learned how to produce a 12 second video micro-blog in school today. What did you accomplish? Check out http://12seconds.tv/channel/kenenglish. If you think it's easy to say something intelligent in 12 seconds, try it. I'm trying to figure out how to have the speakers make an appearance on my 12 channel. Most of them can't say their name in 12 seconds, but I'll invite them.

Sunday's show will include the NicheProf talking about the School of Social Marketing and several of the participants from the Impact Bootcamp.

Speakers during the second day included Sanyika Calloway Boyce, Carrie Wilkerson, Donna Fox, Mary Mazzullo and Warren Whitlock. Day three speakers are Brendon Burchard, Sanyika, Felicia Slattery and Ken McArthur. Tune-in beginng at Noon.

It seems that young people don't realize the importance of education until they are not-so-young and they lose their job and have to start over. Twenty years with a company that says you're being laidoff, fired or transfered to a place you don't want to go, isn't part of the plan. Teen suicide isn't part of the plan. Foreclosure, domestice abuse, paralysis aren't part of the plan. But they are part of life.

According to everyone of the speakers at Ken McArthur's Impact Factor Bootcamp, it's not what happened to you, but what you did after it happened, that matters.

Independence, they say, is at your finger tips. But like a keyboard on a piano, the sweet sounds of success are a result of knowing which keys to press, and when. In other, you have to learn how the internet works before you can make it work for you.

Mentors, coaches, teachers, consultants, they're all here. They have different styles. But they have a common thread.

They all believe that - YOU are the one who has to take action - or nothing will change in your life.

My favorite motivational speaker, Ray Pelletier, used to do some sleight of hand as part of his presentation. 'Missing the obvious' was a favorite of mine, because that's what everyone does. We are so close to most of our problems that we fail to see we are on the edge of an opportunity.

Spend a few minutes with us via BlogTalkRadio on Sunday, beginning a Noon. You'll hear someone say something that will have an impact.

Since the Impact Factor Boot Camp ends Sunday night, and the Action Team has to layout out a plan of 'action,' for the 'Prevent Teen Suicide' campaign, it should be a hectic day.

Perhaps people should follow the advice of the NIcheProf, who, like Socrates (no, he wasn't one of the speakers) says 'Know Thy Self,' before you embark on the sea of social change.

Twitter. Facebook. MySpace. YouTube. Revver. Blogs. Micro-blogs. Video. Audio.

They are the platforms of change. They are the opportunities at hand. Or, more accurately, at your fingertips. Business people, it was said, need to use the internet to more effectively 'talk' to your customers, your friends and your fans.

Be here at Noon, 24 August, to let some people talk to you about social marketing and how you can learn to ride the wave of technical innovation into tomorrow.
