Commercial real estate assessments are issued annually in Washington DC by the Office of Tax and Revenue. This year owners have been shocked when opening the mail and seeing increases of 25% or more. These assessment increases have significant ramifications for property owners and tenants alike if not handled quickly. I am joined by Jeremy Chitlik, a senior manager with SC&H. Jeremy spent 6 years at the Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR). His final 2 years he was the Supervisor of Major Commercial Properties, overseeing all large commercial assessments in DC.
