Joyce Day
 
Resident of Houston, TX, graduate of High School for Performing & Visual Arts majoring in instrumental Music. Percussionist, flutist, vocalist, former member of Coochie Rat, The Patridge Family and Igneous Rock. Current member of kayumanggi ; Pinoy rock band and 13 year veteran of Different Kind of Monkey. Currently involved in solo music project as well as recording/performance project with Bill Patridge. Ceremonial singer; Wicaglata; with Lone Star Drum, and Wakan Hoye Yapi Singers of Rosebud SD; Traditional Lakota drum groups. Community activist, especially concerning Indigenous Peoples and womens' issues. On the board of directors of Canteyuke, a non-profit organization that provides food, winter clothing and school supplies to residents of the Rosebud Reserve in South Dakota, active member of Creative Women Unite. Joyce is a proponent for preservation of Indigenous cultures through music and art, and enjoys spending time with her 5 amazing grandchildren.
