April is National Poetry Month and Scandalous Women is happy to welcome back author Leanna Renee Hieber to talk about Christina Rossetti. Christina Georgina Rossetti, one of the most important women poets writing in nineteenth-century England.  She was born in London, the younger sister of painter and poet Dante Gabriel and the writer and art critic William Rossetti. A devout member of the evangelical branch of the Church of England, Rossetti never married.  She stayed at home, writing her poems which include In the Bleak Mid-Winter and Goblin Market.  We'll be talking about Christina as well as her famous brothers and what influence they may have had on her life.
