Brittany Peters, 26, was killed on June 15, 2013, inside of her apartment of multiple stab wounds in what authorities label as a homicide arising from a domestic disturbance. Charles E. Henry, 34, was sentenced to 62 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of murder and stalking Ms. Peters. The couple are alleged to have been together on and off for about 12 years and involved in several prior domestic disputes, one which led to Henry's arrest for aggravated assault in Chicago, IL a review of Henry's Facebook account uncovered a message  stating, "I hate you so much that sometimes I watch CSI just to get pointers on how to kill you without actually getting caught,"  Peters' mother, Natasha Ward, said her daughter was loved by many, including the children she taught whose hand prints adorned a poster that Ward held up for Boswell to see. Peters loved Henry's girls, who spent years together and now are separated. Henry's daughter, whom Peters had raised for a time, one of four Henry has with four women, is living in foster care.

"I know God has a plan, but this is hard to accept," Ward said as she cried on the witness stand.
