At the beginning of the year, Missouri revised a statute that can now send a child to a juvenile detention center and receive a Class E felony if he/she gets in a fight at school. The original statute would charge a child with a misdemeanor and be released to their parent(s). Harassment has even been defined as a crime. What other states will follow suit and punish a child for "causing emotional distress". Are we just "signing off" our Black/Afrikan children to these school systems?
