SundayGlory! "Ministry of Gray Hair". Dr. Amos L. Woods, Sr., D.Div (referred to as 'the preachers' preacher & mentor') was born in Tulsa, OK is the proud son of Cozetta Roby Woods (a church musician and orator) and Rev. William Harrison Woods (a national evangelist and civic activist). Dr. Woods is the 3rd generation in a continuous line of five generations of preachers & prophets. Clean living, hard working, and hard preaching were the three most important principles stressed by his family. Called to public ministry in 1946, he received his ministerial license and was later ordained in 1952 and pastored his first church Rose of Sharon, Little Rock, AK, 1952-1953. He Founded & pastored Woods Cathedral Church of God in Christ (COGIC) where he has worked faithfully and untiringly in the vineyard of the Lord. Superintendent/Dr. Woods, Sr also was senior pastor of the New Mount Zion COGIC and serves under Prelate Bishop John Henry Sheard, Michigan Southwest 1st Ecclesiastic Jurisdiction.
