To All people who see through religion and spirituality but who know all things living in their intricacy of function could not have just randomly come to be, because the intelligence around us in the genes and simple but elaborate systems within systems NEEDED intelligence to guide them into being just like a computer needed to be guided into being. What and Who may be a False Prophet?
A false prophet is someone who talks about God and Godly ideas to get something from you and to elevate themselves. Many don't know they are doing that, though don't necessarily allow themselves to consider that motivation as then it might keep them from doing it, to question themselves, they would lose their supports that add to their stature and could deflate their elevated ego, social or political and even economic balloons. They are also characterized by promises of grandeur, rewards for the believers and faithful to what they prophesize about and generally some damnation to those that don't, thus judgementalism while claiming one superior, thereby separating people by artificial means - ideas of the mind that may or may not have their origin in reality or propaganda. If the ideas are of God, thus not false, God being the being and beings that had most to do with the bringing about of our reality, then they will advance Godly interests. God, being this creative organization, it is said created/grew our environment as a way of adding to God's members/branches which being largely removed from Humanness and mammalian characteristics as for example, as a human is removed from certain canine animal characteristics assists us in growing to understand the separation of body and mind, as the environment of Spirit as translated to the physical in that which is "good" defined as Life and Life opportunity honoring. We honor the sun not by getting on hands and knees bowing to it, though nothing wrong with doing that if someone wants to, but more in appreciating it's existence and recognizing it's ultimate scope of value to us. The same for a buffalo that we might take the life of so that we might live. If we become gluttons for that sustenance and remove ourselves from the process of killing that living creature we remove ourselves from the sacrifice of that living being for us, however seemingly involuntary. But since nature is structured as mutual support networks all things are permissible but if we lose our consciousness of who and what is giving to us, then we are becoming poisoned with our own elevated self worth that yields a harder and harder heart. We honor the creators by honoring the creation, respecting it, seeking to be in harmony with it and it's cycles and changing if we recognized a disharmony. Factory farms are a dishonoring of Life. Agribusiness can easily dishonor life. The use of substances/elements that damage our environment and thereby every life system that depends on it is dishonoring life. Someone who takes another's life dishonors life. Someone who steals from another person dishonors that other person they have stolen from and thereby dishonors life. Asking for help to live never dishonors anyone as all that we have in elements and biology and mind has been given to us without our efforts to create it, thereby we are honoring another by accepting a gift from another and by giving a gift to another. A gift is never something given with the expectation of return, otherwise it is a pseudo gift and therefore fake and what is fake is never in honor of Life, with the exception of avoiding someone else's interference in our or another’s life, life again being that which allows us the opportunity to partake of the same creation. Listening to music isn't in that way honoring life unless the music stimulates an honoring of life and all it's parts. In other words honoring death, part of our reality is to allow it to occur as a natural part of Life on this planet. We even honor another by allowing them to die in whatever way they want that doesn't interfere with another’s life. Warning someone of what is to come, with the hope that they will see the storm and save themselves from it, is simply providing others with an opportunity they might otherwise not be aware of, but that is far different than pressuring them to accept what is said under threat of eternal damnation, even though that may very well be a fact, though the definition of damnation simply means - without change.
Without change means without growth. Without no evolution and no life as life presupposes animated change - development of more life, thus no change is death and is the "second death", the death Jesus spoke of that was the result of not being "saved" from or taken into God's abode, God again being the Kingdom, the Evolutionary Level Above Human.
If the world we know of is in fact coming to some form of end of cycle, is it a negative? No, it is honoring the creation as a part of it that is simply operating on it's cycle. But what if we are advancing that cycle or seeking to stop that cycle? Well, it's our choice but it may be futile. However it would be honoring it to not try to change it except by not potentially adding to it, thus the attention to curbing our pollution is honoring life.
But a false prophet does little for life except in showing some what not to pay attention to as it often lacks real interface to what is real to us. In doing so it spreads fear however subtle and disguised.
As a summary of the Jesus Mission, a follow up of the Moses Mission...
Throughout the statements ascribed to the person historically known as Jesus of Nazareth over 2000 years ago, as documented in the composite of materials called the Bible, were forecasts, warnings, general and specific guidelines and even instructions for life that when heeded and followed through an all important application, to the best of one's ability, would demonstrate a person's desire to, "do the will of the Father in the heavens" and by so doing, consistently seeking to improve upon ourselves (to seek perfection) to reap the eventual reward of membership in a new Kingdom that is real, (for the living not the dead) not on Earth (of this world) and that among other things does not have an automatic end, aka death, thus for all intents and purposes promises us an eternal life in what would compare to Earth as a paradise.
The following lay, detailed evaluation of language and translation seeks to bring out the full intention of the Jesus mission. One no longer needs to be a scholar adept in English, Latin, Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew to come by the full meaning. In fact this evaluation will highlight how language gets in the way because all too often one word means even many seemingly divergent things or perspectives depending on it's context, the environment in which it was used but also the real culture of the time period - the norms and extremities of the day and then the all too important horse sense of when something was literal and when it was figurative.
At this time in the 21st century, what often seems to us absurd to believe could have been quite apropos 2000 years ago in terms of a graduated teaching system geared to appeal to all, yet specific to a very few while being minimally threatening to the existing power structures, to buy sufficient time to perform said leading edge mission. This strategy is natural to great leaders and is most evidenced by statements such as, "to those with eyes to see" or "for those with ears to hear", along with both figurative expressions and symbolic stories, while still revealing an unvarnished truth to those few who had the wherewithal to reach for the golden ring to absorb it.
This work will attempt to demonstrate an evaluation process, my evaluation, which began in my late teens and became a full time experience during and after I joined the group, then led by what I see now as the best candidates to personify the Two Witnesses of Revelation chapter 11, called Bo and Peep, who in 1975 coined the title, Human Individual Metamorphosis (HIM) by public ally talking about their Outer Space God/Man perspectives and who in so doing spontaneously swept the nation with information tantamount to: The Jesus Family Returns for the Saints via a UFO (short for "Cloud of Light"). Twenty two years later, by March of 1997, the group of thirty nine that formed around these two extraordinary people went down in global history when they "laid down" their earthly bodies voluntarily by putting themselves to sleep via a strong narcotic and in a very public ally exposed way to both demonstrate their 100% (ALL) love of God, as Jesus and Moses taught was our ultimate goal and to make a mark on the world so that others might eventually look into what they were all about. The media made a dog and pony show out of it as an Evil UFO Cult affair so not to do anything that might challenge their readership and viewer ship or that threatened their own personal psyche and their rather shallow perspective that was in turn not at all public ally challenged by any leaders, not by those in Christianity, nor Judaism, nor New Age, nor Spiritualists, nor paranormals, nor atheist, nor UFO buffs despite the fact that the group had more parallels to all that Jesus and Moses taught and to both social and space science than any other before it, that is since Jesus. It was just too challenging to take seriously. It was too close to all the science fiction stories and religion which never did truly represent Moses and Jesus, that is in all but the most important ways - what we must do if we expect to appeal to the creator of the known universe that in no way needs us. The norm of life throughout the world and essentially the mastermind of the human race had established itself as a materially profit orientated society with a type of self proclaimed, presumed godly mindset. I left the group in 1994 in a strong way attempting not to look back. However, after nineteen years with them, while completely devoted on a level that I was not entirely conscious I had formed significant bonds that I could not stand to break, prompting my voluntary return to their service (after years of dreams, premonitions, sightings, observations and a thirst to know more) initially in 1997 when I went before the national press to explain who they were and then as of late in more earnest with the presentation of this material.
With this story and the unusual nature of the material, not conforming completely with contemporary science nor religion, nor cultural norms has made it seem impossible to structure in some logical manner that most might expect and even require to comprehend. So I start with whatever thread most lights up my attention and from there anything goes though I attempt to bring it back to core ideas.
This particular thread of evaluation will begin with primarily one scripture though through the course will reference and evaluate many:
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
It is only by identifying a "false prophet" by what it is that they prophesize that is "false" that we can then be forewarned so to not become trapped in their scheme, however seemingly innocent. A "false prophet" does not necessarily know they are being false. In most cases they think they are anything but "false". That's why it is a trap set by a cunning predator, a wolf appearing to be anything but. A case in point:

Mar 13:22 For false Christ’s and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
and especially this one:
Luk 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
How could it be that you are in trouble when men speak well of you? What do they speak well of that Jesus was referring to? He's saying the ancestors also spoke well of the false prophets in their day. Is it because the false prophets build their popularity on what people generally want to hear, the same as it always is? Do we have a romanticized view of who a false prophet is today? Today Cults are the best indication of who the mainstream (secular or religious or spiritual) would call false prophets because they don't behave as the institutionalized - indoctrinated established religious/economic and spiritual/economic power structures. Pulpits and Books and Radio and TV time are the mouthpieces that are many times over bought, paid for and self justified, all the while mostly quoting Paul of Tarsus rather than Jesus because Jesus was too darn weird and understandably practically impossible to measure up to.
Prophets are generally thought of as insightful teachers thus to be a false prophet means one is teaching a false doctrine. Here is a section of what Jesus said was "false teachings":

In other words clean up your own act to include your thoughts.

Phariseesseparatists (Heb. persahin, from parash, "to separate"). Theywere probably the successors of the Assideans (i.e., the"pious"), a party that originated in the time of AntiochusEpiphanes in revolt against his heathenizing policy. The firstmention of them is in a description by Josephus of the threesects or schools into which the Jews were divided (B.C. 145).The other two sects were the Essenes and the Sadducees. In thetime of our Lord they were the popular party (John 7:48). Theywere extremely accurate and minute in all matters appertainingto the law of Moses (Matt. 9:14; 23:15; Luke 11:39; 18:12).Paul, when brought before the council of Jerusalem, professedhimself a Pharisee (Acts 23:6-8; 26:4, 5).
There was much that was sound in their creed, yet their systemof religion was a form and nothing more. Theirs was a very laxmorality (Matt. 5:20; 15:4, 8; 23:3, 14, 23, 25; John 8:7). Onthe first notice of them in the New Testament (Matt. 3:7), theyare ranked by our Lord with the Sadducees as a "generation ofvipers." They were noted for their self-righteousness and theirpride (Matt. 9:11; Luke 7:39; 18:11, 12). They were frequentlyrebuked by our Lord (Matt. 12:39; 16:1-4).
From the very beginning of his ministry the Pharisees showedthemselves bitter and persistent enemies of our Lord. They couldnot bear his doctrines, and they sought by every means todestroy his influence among the people.
Greek; Pharisees:5330 Pharisaios {far-is-ah'-yos}of Hebrew origin cf 06567; TDNT - 9:11,1246; n mAV - Pharisee 100; 1001) A sect that seems to have started after the Jewish exile. In addition to OT books the Pharisees recognized in oral tradition a standard of belief and life. They sought for distinction and praise by outward observance of external rites and by outward forms of piety, and such as ceremonial washings, fasting, prayers, and alms giving; and, comparatively negligent of genuine piety, they prided themselves on their fancied good works. They held strenuously to a belief in the existence of good and evil angels, and to the expectation of a Messiah; and they cherished the hope that the dead, after a preliminary experience either of reward or of penalty in Hades, would be recalled to life by him, and be requited each according to his individual deeds. In opposition to the usurped dominion of the Herods and the rule of the Romans, they stoutly upheld the theocracy and their country's cause, and possessed great influence with the common people. According to Josephus they numbered more than 6000. They were bitter enemies of Jesus and his cause; and were in turn severely rebuked by him for their avarice, ambition, hollow reliance on outward works, and affection of piety in order to gain popularity.
Scribesanciently held various important offices in the public affairsof the nation. The Hebrew word so rendered (sopher) is firstused to designate the holder of some military office (Judg.5:14; A.V., "pen of the writer;" R.V., "the marshal's staff;"marg., "the staff of the scribe"). The scribes acted assecretaries of state, whose business it was to prepare and issuedecrees in the name of the king (2 Sam. 8:17; 20:25; 1 Chr.18:16; 24:6; 1 Kings 4:3; 2 Kings 12:9-11; 18:18-37, etc.). Theydischarged various other important public duties as men of highauthority and influence in the affairs of state.
There was also a subordinate class of scribes, most of whomwere Levites. They were engaged in various ways as writers.Such, for example, was Baruch, who "wrote from the mouth ofJeremiah all the words of the Lord" (Jer. 36:4, 32).
In later times, after the Captivity, when the nation lost itsindependence, the scribes turned their attention to the law,gaining for themselves distinction by their intimateacquaintance with its contents. On them devolved the duty ofmultiplying copies of the law and of teaching it to others (Ezra7:6, 10-12; Neh. 8:1, 4, 9, 13). It is evident that in NewTestament times the scribes belonged to the sect of thePharisees, who supplemented the ancient written law by theirtraditions (Matt. 23), thereby obscuring it and rendering it ofnone effect. The titles "scribes" and "lawyers" (q.v.) are inthe Gospels interchangeable (Matt. 22:35; Mark 12:28; Luke20:39, etc.). They were in the time of our Lord the publicteachers of the people, and frequently came into collision withhim. They afterwards showed themselves greatly hostile to theapostles (Acts 4:5; 6:12).
Some of the scribes, however, were men of a different spirit,and showed themselves friendly to the gospel and its preachers.Thus Gamaliel advised the Sanhedrin, when the apostles werebefore them charged with "teaching in this name," to "refrainfrom these men and let them alone" (Acts 5:34-39; comp. 23:9).
Greek; Scribes:1122 grammateus {gram-mat-yooce'}from 1121; TDNT - 1:740,127; n mAV - scribe 66, townclerk 1; 671) a clerk, scribe, esp.a public servant, secretary, recorder, whose office and influence differed in different states 2) in the Bible, a man learned in the Mosaic law and in the sacred writings, an interpreter, teacher. Scribes examined the more difficult and subtle questions of the law; added to the Mosaic law decisions of various kinds thought to elucidate its meaning and scope, and did this to the detriment of religion. Since the advice of men skilled in the law was needed in the examination in the causes and the solution of the difficult questions, they were enrolled in the Sanhedrin; and are mentioned in connection with the priests and elders of the people. See a Bible Dictionary for more information on the scribes. 3) a religious teacher: so instructed that from his learning and ability to teach advantage may redound to the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus re: the Sadducees:

SadduceesThe origin of this Jewish sect cannot definitely be traced. Itwas probably the outcome of the influence of Grecian customs andphilosophy during the period of Greek domination. The first timethey are met with is in connection with John the Baptist'sministry. They came out to him when on the banks of the Jordan,and he said to them, "O generation of vipers, who hath warnedyou to flee from the wrath to come?" (Matt. 3:7.) The next timethey are spoken of they are represented as coming to our Lordtempting him. He calls them "hypocrites" and "a wicked andadulterous generation" (Matt. 16:1-4; 22:23). The only referenceto them in the Gospels of Mark (12:18-27) and Luke (20:27-38) istheir attempting to ridicule the doctrine of the resurrection,which they denied, as they also denied the existence of angels.They are never mentioned in John's Gospel.
There were many Sadducees among the "elders" of the Sanhedrin.They seem, indeed, to have been as numerous as the Pharisees(Acts 23:6). They showed their hatred of Jesus in taking part inhis condemnation (Matt. 16:21; 26:1-3, 59; Mark 8:31; 15:1; Luke9:22; 22:66). They endeavored to prohibit the apostles frompreaching the resurrection of Christ (Acts 2:24, 31, 32; 4:1, 2;5:17, 24-28). They were the deists or skeptics of that age. Theydo not appear as a separate sect after the destruction ofJerusalem.
Greek; Sadducees:4523 Saddoukaios {sad-doo-kah'-yos}probably from 4524; TDNT - 7:35,992; n mAV - Sadducees 14; 14Sadducees = "the righteous" 1) a religious party at the time of Christ among the Jews, who denied that the oral law was a revelation of God to the Israelites, and who deemed the written law alone to be obligatory on the nation, as the divine authority. They denied the following doctrines: 1a) resurrection of the body 1b) immortality of the soul 1c) existence of spirits and angels 1d) divine predestination, affirmed free will.When I read this now I think first of the Catholic Hierarchy, but moreorless any of the hierarchal bodies that have become institutionalized so called Christians. The people are not judged, that is unless they participate in the judgment and measurement of others on their conditions, the dogma of the organization that amounts to the pretenses of holiness most evident in the appearances of holiness, the ceremony, titles of piety, clothing to distinguish status, paraphernalia deemed part of a ceremony, incense and the so called holy communion, the preaching of dogma - honoring the mother of the body of Jesus as much as the image of Jesus on the cross. Some denominations all called Christian broke away from the Catholic Institution as their idolatry was so blatant and actually in conflict with much of what Jesus was about. They called the priest "Fathers" when Jesus said to call no man your "Father" speaking of the reference to his Father who is in the physical heavens, not the parent child relationship though the simile exists. Jesus said to pray in your closet in private and you'd get an answer in secret but what do the Catholic and many denominations do...they pray aloud in groups. Jesus said you don't need a lot of words in your prayer, but what do these denominations do - they go on and on and on - praise the lord this and praise the lord that - aka vain repetitions. When you go to confession which was not from Jesus to do except to any person you do something to that you regret or know could have been done better. That needs to be a person to person experience. There is no intercessor between man and God. When God sends a rep from God's kingdom that member of God's kingdom is God in the flesh which is evidenced by almost the entire book of John in that Jesus said he and the Father are one not because the Father wasn't his own persona, but because in seeking to do the will of the Father, to give all his love to his father meant seeking His will and acting upon it in his every waking moment. Thus at the degree to which that is nearing 100% as best is possible while still being in a human body, for all intents and purposes he is possessed by the Father by his own free will thus they are one. Priests and Reverends and Rabbis can offer their advise on their understanding of God and life on Earth but it's no different than asking a parent or school teacher or expert in computer science. It's limited to their view. We must each seek our own connection, yet can never assume we have it. That's where another false teaching exists. The idea that once you ask for Jesus to come into your heart that from that point on your sins are washed clean. Your sins are only washed clean when you decide to give your entire life to God and even then there are always ramifications of what we engaged within before and after such a decision point. Washed clean is another misnomer. You are not clean unless you keep your house clean and that needs to be in thought, word and deed. And clean has little to do with outward appearances. Sure hygiene was always a part of the teachings of the one true God of Israel and Christianity as well as in most religious cultures because it makes sense as do all the true things from the true God. We can use common sense to know which things were figurative and which things were literal in what Jesus taught, though some of that is greatly influenced by society. Another false teaching is that of being "Saved" which I have touched upon. "Saved" only happens after a rep has left the planet. Those who did not go with the rep to his Kingdom which applied to all who were physically with Jesus, were told they would be saved if they kept the commandments - the ways Jesus taught and demonstrated even to the degree of being willing to give their physical lives while passing on what Jesus taught as they would meet the same resistance Jesus did and thereby be faced with continuance despite the ramifications of persecution, imprisonment and being murdered without cause.
When those left their bodies, what humans call death but is not the primary death as spoken of by Jesus they in their faithful intentions as demonstrated by their "works" (effort) were no doubt saved in a temporary place in the underworld (spirit world, aka Hades, shoal, where the idea of purgatory came from) so that they could be "raised up on the last day" to have a chance upon the rep's return to bring their lessons of mind overcoming the flesh instincts to fruition. It's quite likely that these "souls" or "saints" or "elect" or "brethren" were actually taken by the Kingdom of Heaven into a waiting place even outside the Earth Environment but protected - "on ice" or given another vehicle to use to help them prepare for their final exam time on Earth again with the new rep who would take them through the birth canal - an actual graduation from the human kingdom into the Level Above Human, aka the Kingdom of Heaven or Kingdom of God, the One True God (as we know there are plenty of those who claim to be gods, nowadays even humans).
Saul (Paul) of Tarsus was without his knowing it one of the biggest false prophets as to date many churches of all denominations focus more so on what Paul said than hardly anything Jesus said. That's because Paul made it easy for all when it never was easy. Yes, Jesus yoke is easy in the sense that it's not complicated and has the clearest focus. To make your eye single so your whole body is full of light is a task to accomplish because it pertains to exercising of will power of body and mind. Filling out time with representations of events past and using the ideals as representative of devotion is nothing short of phony. It's taking the name of God in vain. It's having a false idol as it is when we praise another human in a god like way be it a Hollywood star or the President or the Pope or even our parent. We need to learn to respect all as equal to us regardless of their worldly accomplishments as one day if they want, all will have to give up their worldly attachments if they want to begin a relationship with the One True God through his reps on Earth.
Thus all attention to the "cross" and his "blood" and the "passion" and the cloth someone use to blow Jesus nose in while he was suffering and the chalice he drank out of and the one symbolic thing he did with those he was about to leave becoming a cornerstone of an economic empire is so opposite all Jesus represented.
Now this is not in judgment of any one person. A follower of a particular church is not accountable for the Church's activities UNLESS they become awakened to the reality in the things I am outlining here. After that no one has an excuse to support such organizations, but that in no way means one should not continue giving. Jesus said, go give to the poor. But do it yourself. The more you put your giving in another’s hands the less you gain in relationship with God from that giving.

First off, why did the translators choose the English word "ravening" in this scripture as the interpretation of the Greek word "harpax"?
Lets look at the scripture in it's full context:
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are RAVENING wolves.Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Etymology: 16c: from raven to devour or hunt for food.
In the said scripture "ravening" was used as an adjective to wolves, thus should give added information about a wolf. Saying they are meat eating - how does that tell us more. Don't we know they are meat eating and even if we don't why do we care if they are meat eating unless want's to stretch it to mean the false prophets were false because they were like meat eaters. And there may actually be some truth to that in that a meat eater is a predator or a scavenger, a wolf can be either but they generally live off of other animals as opposed to a sheep that lives off of plants and roots. But putting that aside, where they trying to say in the adjective ravening that the wolf was a hungry wolf? Well, everyone knows a wolf does not hunt if it's not hungry or were they trying to say they were especially hungry, but if so what's wrong with their being especially hungry unless it makes them less discerning about what they consider prey.
Or did the translators make a mistake here? Translating the English word to Hebrew would yield:

This might go better with "wolves" as wolves certainly tear their prey apart but how does that add to the meaning sought by the phrase in Matthew's account of what Jesus said?

But before jumping to a mistake scenario, let's look at other meanings that were associated with the Greek word "harpax":

Let's look at the first definition for harpax:

Interesting that when we look at the meaning or rapacious we get a more specific idea of what makes this wolf that is a in to a false profit that appears as a sheep but inside is a "ravening wolf". Who looks like a sheep and offers prophecy?
Next let's look at the meaning of the word: Prophecy?

So anyone who is claiming to interpret divine will such as revealing interpretations and foretelling the future is a prophet. So who is a false prophet? Answer: Someone who falsely interprets divine will, falsely reveals such interpretations and falsie foretells the future.
Now Jesus says beware of these "false prophets" who come to you in "sheep’s clothing". Well the word in Greek for sheep refers to the four legged animal but it is very, very clear that Jesus clearly used the word figuratively to mean "his followers that his Father in the heaven's gave to him". Read this passage to understand what Jesus meant by use of the word sheep:

This is also the key to the scripture we began to interpret:
Sheep’s clothing is clearly those who put on the "appearance" of sheep, in this case the appearance of being a follower of Jesus, but more importantly paraphrased, "His Ways (way of life), his commandments (instructions, even requirements to be worthy of eternal life, at the time of his return, to include the example of how strongly he "loved" his sheep and was willing to Lay down his life for them, calling them not only his disciples and believers but his friends".
So how do these false prophets show themselves to us so we can beware of them. We have to look at who they serve, not by what they say on the outside but what they support inwardly and outwardly - what they do in thought, word and deed.
To see what one supports inwardly and outwardly let's refer to what Jesus said about who we can "serve" (you can serve only one of two masters) as follows:
Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.16:9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true [riches]?16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon

And here is the key to indentifying those false prophets as they will serve - hold as their master: "Mammon", not God. More light is shed on the subject by noting the other four scriptures of the five that use "harpax", but for some reason these others were translated not as "to tear, rend, pluck" but as "extortioners".

Matthew 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Luke 11:39 And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

So a false prophet is someone who talks about godly things - forecasting and offering of interpretation of divine will who appears to be an unthreatening, gentle, follower themselves yet inside is more kin to a predator, even greedy and grasping, especially to obtain money, even by threats or violence.
Now who if life's relationships most fit this bill?
We have seen that a prophet is someone who makes claims of interpretation or forecast of events on behalf of God. Who are those that do this? Is it the astrologers and psychics? They charge money but don't generally threaten us in any way. They wouldn't have many clients if they always told people what to do and even threatened them in some ways. So who threatens us and charges us money related to things of the mind, spiritual things, things pertaining to one's belief, things spiritual or religious? I suspect that those who most fall into this category of talking on behalf of God or say by their words and/or actions that they have the gift of prophecy are those who are the prophets. So what's wrong with that? What's wrong with sharing our inspiration? This is what Jesus said he was...
Joh 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.Joh 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.Joh 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
And Jesus said that if you have some light within you then you are obligated to share it:
Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
So there is nothing false about a person that is prophesizing. The problems arise when they are trying to compel you to action from a place of fearfulness with that prophesy.
One of the biggest false teachings by a false self described false prophet:
Certain Religious Institutions or offshoots who say or strongly imply you are condemned to eternal damnation if we don't behave as THEY say or who try to guilt us into supporting their cause - tithing - donations for this so called Christian mission or that so called Christian mission. And who in our Christian history is the first to try to convince us that we are the "saints what will judge the 12 tribes of Israel in the last days and who exalts himself time and time again in his letters, beside the many in pulpits and government and media speaker boxes, but one who is the biggest influence on the current Christian Church who next to never tells us what Jesus actually said but represents himself as Jesus' servant as is quoted many, many times more than Jesus:
Yes, it's Paul of Tarsus formally Saul of Tarsus persecutor of Jesus and his followers after Jesus was witnessed by up to seventy of his closest followers to ascend in the flesh up into a cloud of light" and who said he had a "vision" who said he was "Jesus" and who then claimed he was an "apostle" contrary to what Jesus said throughout the chapter of the gospel of John, that he had kept ALL those who his Father had given him save one whom went against him, who was strongly implied as Judas Iscariot.
Look at the way Paul sets himself as the one to look to for those he writes letters to. Look at the way Paul casts Judgment and condemnation against others in a way Jesus was never recorded to have done. Jesus said, "Judge not lest you be Judged. The way you judge others will be the way you are judged. The measurement you dish out will be the measurement you receive". Who forgave the thief on the cross? Jesus. Who did not condemn the prostitute? Jesus (though he did tell her to go and sin no more"). Who healed the sick and deformed and cared for those who asked his help and told his students to do likewise to be declared a "believer"? Who intellectualized and poeticized and legitimatized a radical but honest movement into a status quo social club that lorded over people and that became an integral part of the "worldliness" that Jesus said all "believers" to be worthy must some day "overcome"? Paul of Tarsus. Who is building who up here? Jesus did not ever talk about himself except that he was simply seeking to be a mouthpiece for his Father. Paul seems to love the glory he receives just like so many other "false prophets".
If anyone is Anti-Christ, this one took the lead of the pack, that is, as evidenced by his own words. I do not judge the person only what he says, whether it's consistent with the way and teachings of Jesus since that is who he claims to be a disciple of. I am not suggesting he knew he was doing this. I think he believed he was serving God through his limited comprehension of what Jesus said that he primarily learned by talking with those who knew Jesus and were one of his followers. He didn't site other communication with Jesus or a messenger after his vision on the road to Damascus. Second hand was all he could get at that point and it's not that he couldn't have made a strong commitment at that time, which Jesus anticipated happening for some. But when we are awakened to anything new it's really important to understand what the meat of the founders message is and then stick to it. To him as well as to all of those who followed Jesus seriously, Jesus was at his departure their "Father in the heavens". They were to look to Jesus the way Jesus looked to "his Father in the heaven's" - according to the example Jesus set while alive. The gospel according to John gave the most in depth look at Jesus' relationship with his "Father" in the heavens. Of course we understand that what we have as the gospel according to John may not have existed when Paul was in Antinoch and other places where there were those who did follow Jesus, so he would have had to pick their brains. But the disciples of Jesus were not sure about Paul, that called Saul too:
Act 9:26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.Act 9:27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.Act 9:28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.
So this says that Barnabas took Paul's side but what of the at least 11 primary disciples (there were far more as there were many women that were equally Jesus' disciples, but the world at the time was patriarchal so women were kept in a subservient role. Only Barnabas took Paul's side.
Here is a little bit of what Paul of Tarsus said: He appears to be quite judgmental and assumes great authority but tells no one to talk to Jesus or the Father as Jesus instructed but sets himself up as an intermediary with gifts that people should recognize thus I believe he evidences lot of false prophecy:
1Co 5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:1Co 5:10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or EXTORTIONERS, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.1Co 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an EXTORTIONER; with such an one no not to eat.1Co 5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?1Co 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Rom 1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,Rom 1:2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)Rom 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;Rom 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:Rom 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:Rom 1:6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:Rom 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.Rom 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.Rom 1:9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;Rom 1:10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.Rom 1:11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;Rom 1:12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.Rom 1:13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.Rom 1:14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.Rom 1:15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
