Any good parent wants their child to experience a better and brighter future than they have. Someday, we all want our daughters, nieces, grand-daughters and our friend's little girls to be able to live the lives they imagine.
We provide our children with educational opportunities, dance classes, spiritual instruction and play dates. We try to monitor what they watch, what they wear, and with whom they associate.
But I believe that we are overlooking a critical and not often talked about component of raising our “Power Chick-lets” up into being “Power Chicks”.
Our. Behavior. Matters.
I’m not trying to add yet another layer to the ‘mommy guilt’ syndrome. I want you to start thinking about how we, as mothers, influence our daughters’ thought processes about power and how women interact with one another.
