Hating The Skin I'm In -Melanated Isis Graves, a blue eyed, twelve year old, bathed in bleach water, praying for lighter skin. Thinking that it would make her pretty, Isis wanted nothing more than to have blonde hair and fair skin.
In a household where everyone shared the same last name except her, Isis believed that her blackness was the cause of the ridicule and mistreatment she suffered from Ian Sycamore and even her own mother, Kesha. Hoping to be accepted Isis soon finds that she must love herself. Will Isis eventually value who she is, just as she is or will the appearance she so desperately craves lead her into a dark place?
