The Fourth of July -On the surface Lauren and her teenage son moved from their hometown of Seattle to Planter’s Georgia to start a new life. In reality she has moved from her comfort zone to track the origins of a killer. As a courtroom reporter she has uncovered more than she expected. Lying underneath the picturesque town of Planter’s were residents spend their lazy summer days sipping sweet tea on their porches. The citizens are oblivious to the drugs that are funneled into their town.

Never the one to run from a story, Lauren digs her heels in to seek justice for the family of a murdered man. But the corruption that she starts to seek starts to hunt her and her family. Threating the life of her son and her own, Lauren titters on running back home. With her luck rapidly running out a stranger steps in an interrupts her plans. Not having time or energy to figure if he is friend or foe, Lauren keeps her him at arm’s length.
As the summer holiday approaches, Lauren fears that there will be more than fireworks and explosions popping off.
