What to the slave is the 4th of July? In 1852 Frederick Douglass asked a group of abolitionist this question. He answered by saying, "A day that reveals, more than any other day, the gross injustices and cruelties that the American Afrikan is in constant contact with." How did we as American Afrikans get to where we love the 4th of July?"
