“When you become so deeply lost in conversation and forget that you’re being interviewed on the radio, it’s a surefire indication of a great program. Sandra Schubert is a fun, inspiring host who has a special gift… she makes her guests feel so relaxed and engaged that when she says at the end of the interview, “We only have four minutes left,” you can hardly believe how quickly the time has passed. I thoroughly enjoyed my discussion with Sandra on Wild Woman Network and would highly recommend this program to innovative, creative thinkers.”

Barbara Sher, Author of WishCraft, celebrating 30 years in publication

Barbara Sher, Author, May 5, Tuesday, 2 PM EST, 11 AM PT, 7 PM UK. You can listen via the Internet or by phone. The number is (347) 202-0660 to listen in. The show is also downloadable on ITunes.
MAR 24, 2009. BELOVED BEST-SELLER CELEBRATES 30 YEARS IN PRINT WITH A VERY UNUSUAL PARTY.

To celebrate the special 30th year edition of her book.
WISHCRAFT, Barbara Sher decided to use Twitter as it's never been used before. At 8PM on Tuesday, Mar 24, Sher finished leading a 24-hour networking party on Twitter. Thousands of fans from all over the world joined her to help anyone and everyone achieve their dreams, find jobs, begin new careers, start their own businesses.

Barbara Sher is a NYTimes bestselling author who's been on major shows (Oprah, The Today Show, etc.) with many of her books. The first one, WISHCRAFT, which has never been out of print since it was first published in 1989, is celebrating the publication of its 30th anniversary today, Mar 24, 2009.

Nothing was for sale at the Twitter party; even WISHCRAFT wasn't mentioned during this world-wide brainstorming, just people calling in their wishes and obstacles -- some needed a job, some wanted to turn their passions into income-producing careers, some wanted to move to Australia -- the dreams were as varied as the people who sent their 140-character messages via Twitter. And they got answers.

Dreams were launched. The pace was amazing. And the use of Twitter was brand new. Sher turned it from casual greetings between friends to a huge networking machine focused on finding solutions for everyone who asked.

And what happened was astonishing. One woman said, "I can't catch my breath! I'll call you Monday!" to someone who directed her to a contact in her town. You can see some of this on Twitter by searching #ideaparty. You can find the wishes and obstacles by searching #W/O and you can find some of the solutions if you search Dream Launched!!

(And the Twitter Idea Party continues every Thursday from noon to midnight at #ideaparty.)

All this to celebrate WISHCRAFT, in which Sher introduced the world to her early version of Idea Parties -- 'brainstorming/barn-raising' and has been rewarded by sales topping a million copies in a dozen countries around the world.

You can find out everything you need to know at the special website Sher set up for this new edition and 30th anniversary celebration. It's worth looking at:
    www.barbarasherwishcraft.com

    At the blog at
www.barbarasherwishcraft.com you'll find some amazing stories sent in by WISHCRAFT readers.

You'll read a letter handed to her at a workshop from a man who hadn't had $6 to attend a performance of a symphony at Lincoln Center - and 8 years later was not only the manager of the orchestra, he'd had 3 of his original compositions performed by by it. WISHCRAFT inspired him to offer to usher at the performance when he was too broke to buy a ticket.

You'll read the letter from a woman who said she was "always too old" to become a dancer believing over and over again that she had missed her chance to study ballet, who became a ballerina at age 42 after reading WISHCRAFT.

Then there's the day Barbara held the first copy of WISHCRAFT in her hands. Dazed and overwhelmed, she carried the book with her to a bench in Central Park just to look at it, and almost was mugged by a group of boys -- until they misread the title and ran away!
