When I was in college one of my professors told me "Only those who have suffered can truly help those who suffer" I write to encourage, motivate, and heal not only myself but many who share my pain.

Tina Clark has published several poems and essays which can be located in the Library of Congress. She has appeared on Showtime at the Apollo and has recieved recognition from Maya Angelou, Danny Glover, Angela Davis, Rosa Parks, NAACP,the Arizona Informant, New Times. She has appeared in various stageplays, and have written several articles for Glamour Magazine She continues to advocate against domestic violence by being a community activist in Arizona.

She has completed her second book of poetry entitled "And People Gon Talk So Let em Say" which will release fall 2008. She is currently working on her first novel set to release 2009. Other books that are set to release are How To Home School Your African American Child, Vehemence, and The Mistress.

She resides in Tempe, Arizona with her three children that she home schools.

WHO IS POETRI?

There aren’t many poets who can distinguish themselves as a “poet rock star.” But the one who does, stands firmly behind his beliefs and convictions, making him one of the most sought after talents in the business. To regard Tony Award winner POETRI as just a poet would be underestimating his abilities. As a writer/producer, he has worked on “Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry Jam” on HBO and Broadway, for which he was a featured player as a prominent Def Poet.

POETRI has also written and/or appeared on over 150 commercials for clients like Nike, NFL Films and BET and Arby’s. Poetri has worked with such legends as Curtis Mayfield, Bootsy Collins and Nona Hendrix, as well as some of today’s stars like Tyler Perry , LL Cool J, Rosario Dawson, ?uestlove, Jessie Dylan and Malcolm-Jamal Warner. He is also the voice of channel 7 on Delta Airlines Radio. He is one of the first poets in this new generation to smash the theory that “poets don’t make any money”. Although Poetri exudes vastness in every aspect of his career, his true passion is acting. You may have already caught his charm and lovable personality on such popular movies as “BLADES OF GLORY” and “NATIONAL TREASURE TWO”. Watch out for him in the upcoming Jim Carrey movie entitled “YES MAN”. Some of his television appearances include “THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW”, “LINCOLN HEIGHTS”, and the critically acclaimed hit TBS show TYLER PERRY’S “HOUSE OF PAYNE” as well as being a major thread to the storyline of the ground-breaking reality documentary “Black.White”.He also has conquered the internet with the record breaking Snickers digi-sodes “INSTANT DEF” along with the Black Eyed Peas.

But his work doesn’t stop there. Poetri hosts the largest weekly poetry venue in the nation, with an attendance of over 350 people every Tuesday. Da’ Poetry Lounge has not only broadened the appeal of spoken word in Los Angeles, but has become a haven for young people to come and express their emotions in a positive atmosphere. He is also the host of Hollywood’s hottest night at the M Bar called Spoken Funk. Poetri is on a mission and GOD won’t let him stop until he gets there.
