Republican congressional leaders urged President Barack Obama today to send more U.S. troops in Afghanistan. They urged him to act quickly as any delay could endanger troops already there in what some say is a deteriorating situation. "Time is not on our side," said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., after a bipartisan meeting with Obama. "We need to act with deliberate haste." "He wants ample time to make a good decision. Frankly, I support that," added Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, his party's leader in the House of Representatives. "But we need to remember that every day that goes by, the troops that we do have there are in greater danger. I don't believe the president needs to make a decision in haste, but we need to get this right."
