So White, No Black, Who Cares: Should Black People Care About The Oscars? Jae Iglesia and Mr. Pearson will tackle the Academy Awards! Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee are boycotting the Oscars due to the lack of Black actors, actresses, and directors being recognized for their craft. Pressure is being put on Chris Rock to turn down his role as host at the prestigious award show. Others are saying that Hollywood only honors Blacks for stereotypical roles, and the Oscars shouldn't be patronized anyway. Still others are saying this is all much ado about nothing. Who's right? Who's wrong? And what's the church's role in the whole big mess? We will discuss it this Sunday: in The Barbershop!
