Empty pews, alligator shoes, & pulpit blues! A few years ago, rapper Nas put out a song called "Hip-hop Is Dead." The song decried the commercialism, the materialism, and the complete capitulation of the genre to trends and pop culture. Today, in the wake of the continuing decay of the doctrines and actions of the Body of Christ in general--and in the Black Church in particular--ICE Ministries declares that the church in America is dead. It no longer wields influence or power over the national morality, merely serving instead as a Sunday place to listen to motivational speeches and inspirational music.
