Stripped by the Cross with Todd Tomasella and Travis Bryan III

1. The old creation and old man must be stripped off and put away from us.  The new creation and new man must be put on.  The putting off can only come to us thru our participation with Christ in his cross.  This putting on only happens through our participation in the resurrection.   2. At the cross, there was a universal stripping off of the entire old creation by Christ and, in His resurrection, a universal putting on of the new creation new man.  The microcosmic Jesus cruci?ed became a macrocosmic Christ putting off the old man.  In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the ?esh by THE CIRCUMCISION OF CHRIST: buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.  Col 2:11-12. The cruci?xion and burial of Christ was the circumcision, the putting off of the old creation and the ?eshly old man.  Circumcision is a stripping off. 3. The resurrection of Christ was a universal forgiveness of sins open to all who believe into Christ.  We were dead in our sins but, through our resurrection with Christ, we have been raised up out of all our sins.  And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your ?esh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;  Col 2:13. 4. Moses's law, being part of the old creation and related only to the old man, not to the new man, was cruci?ed with Christ and taken out of the way.   Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.  Col 2:14.
