They promise victory without the cross. Empty promise. ANY person who is promising you victory outside of the cross, is a vile, antichrist liar. Such false prophets are “accursed” … "enemies of the cross of Christ" (Gal 1:6-9; Phil 3:18-19) for not preaching the original Gospel, which 1) begins with the command to repent (Matt 3:2; 4:17; Acts 2:38; 3:19, 17:30, Lk 9:23-24; Jn 15:1-6).
The false leaders of Jesus' day knew and yet set aside Scripture to keep their own falsehoods - go read Mk 7:6-9 closely. Scripture was not their final authority - and that's a cardinal indication of all who do not know the LORD and yet pose as leaders among us (2 Tim 3:16). As you know, when tempting our LORD, Satan used Scripture ... and twisted it (Lk 4). Paul says that "MANY" today do just that (2 Cor 2:17).
Concerning the apostasy of that which falsely calls itself the church, Dawn Flaherty writes:
"In days gone by, the Church was truly Christ and Bible centered and intensive and was the heart of the community ..They fed the poor, healed the sick, took care of orphans and widows and won lost souls to Jesus by obeying Christ's Great Commission command ...For years there was a poor box that now does not exist ... The local churches have become inward looking, They have blended in with the community like a chameleon instead of shining brightly for Jesus. They are lost!"
