“WHY GOD SENT JESUS”.  We’re going to discuss God’s purpose in sending Jesus not just as our Savior to forgive sins, but to make him our Lord through the renewal ministry of the Holy Ghost so that His will can be done in earth as it is in heaven.  The essence of Lordship is obedience by faith or, in other words, it is being set under the authority of the words of the righteous laws of the kingdom of the One whom you call your Lord.  These laws are not milk, but meat.  Those who are still on milk are immature and unskilled in the word of righteousness.

The Lordship of Jesus in our lives requires maturity.  Maturity requires discipleship which in turn requires the personal responsibility on every believers part to continue in his Word in order to mature and develop a relationship with Him.  Jesus said:  “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you (i. e. he never had an approving relationship with them):  depart from me ye that work iniquity (i. e. lawlessness).     His question to all of us is:  “Why call ye me Lord, Lord and do not the things which I say”?
