Are we so naive as to believe God is surprised about all these things that are happening in this fallen, increasingly iniquitous world? Is the New World Order (NWO) and all its facets ... CERN, etc., and all the other evil dealings a surprise to Him who knows all from beginning to end? "But brother Todd did you hear about ...!?" Hysteria is reigning among the ungrounded - those not truly abiding in and with our LORD Jesus (John 15). Remember that all these signs are to get us to "look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:28)

Focusing on these signs while neglecting the Savior who gave them to us is sin. He gave us these signs in order to get us to come to Him and to abide intimate in Him.

Jesus foretold us that distractions would abound and what to do when He warned: "And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them. 24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day." (Luke 17:23-24)

Distractions Foretold

It seems He is warning us not to be hostile in our watching for His soon return. Remember that in verse 20-21 of this passage, Jesus instructs "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation (occular evidence): 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." In other words, as long as you truly know Him, you have nothing at all to worry about.

The signs He gave us were to get our eyes on Him and not off of Him. His kingdom is in us and so we need not frantically be looking for it or Him. When He comes no one is going to miss it. To hold such a notion is to be ignorant of the knowledge of His infinite Majesty.
