On July 21, 2015 I officially transferred into American Legion Post 51 of Whittier CA.

I wanted to do a story about how that process happened and at the same share another veteran’s story.

At a local city concert, I met Mr. Dennis Knight Sr.: 1st Vice Commander on Whittier Post 51 American Legion.

We started a conversation, I accepted and went to the American Legion meeting and voila, I officially transferred from Post 1000 to Post 51.

Today my co-host Mr. Armando F. Sanchez and I visited Mr. Knight at his home and spent about an hour telling stories about our respective military service, and the mission and challenges of the Legion.  Time passed very quickly.

Dennis Knight Sr., US Army, Vietnam Veteran

Mr. Knight was drafted in 1970 and was in Vietnam in 1971. He served for 18 months and left the service as a SP/4. He is a current member of both VFW and American Legion Post 51 (serving has 1st Vice Chairman in charge of membership).

I truly had a humbling experience hearing his personal military experience stories.

I also look forward to hearing stories from the members of Post 51.

Thank you and enjoy the global on-demand podcast where we interview Dennis Knight Sr.
