Recently on our weekly walk; Carol and I got into a discussion about understanding and knowing when you are really ready for change. Over the last few years Carol and I have both had people in our life experience some pretty life changing events. To us, these life changing events seemed to be an indicator that change would be needed for their preceding negative habits. Yet, this is not the case; most of the people choose to stay the same or actually regress further into negative habits. We discussed the inaccurate assumption that people are ready to change, just because something negative happened. The truth is when we begin to understand our conflicting feelings about change we unlock one of the keys to long-term goal achievement.
