Antoine Christopher Smith was born on August 1, 1992 in Euclid, Ohio. As a native Clevelander, Antoine is a drummer and a ”dabbling” keyboardist that composes and plays mainly, contemporary jazz. In addition, he composes other genres as well. He comes from a wide range of family history in music that once indulged very heavily in local bands as musicians, singers, dancers, composers, managers, and teachers.

After studying the drums at the age of 11 years old to his recent age of 15 years old under his teachers; Mr. Janowitz (a graduate of Cleveland State University) and Mr. Puin (a graduate of Berkley College), he composed and dedicated his song, Mr. Puin on his first CD, “TWAN” released, Oct. 2, 2007. Antoine has been playing the “quads” in the marching band, the “snare” and “bass drum” in the stage band and orchestra, and the “drum-set” and “congas” in the jazz band at his high school.

His history of the piano/keyboards comes from once “dabbling” with his late grandfather, Rev. B. L. Miles that was a singer, and played the rhyme guitar, organ, and piano in his church, Jesus Christ Pentecostal Cathedral (church once owned by his cousins, the Chapman family). The story is told that before his grandfather passed in the year of 1998, at the age of 5 years old, Antoine was delivered through the mail a keyboard a day after his grandfather’s burial. But, not knowing at a very young age of what to expect, he gave up his keyboard to his brother, Rick to learn to play. As the years past, Antoine felt the need to pick up the keyboard at the age of 14 years old to “dabble” his way into composing his very own songs.

On February 28, 2008, Antoine Christopher Smith, at the age of 15 years old was signed with TURN ON RECORDS, Larry A. Russell “Pro Musica,” CEO of Eroica Classical Recordings (Indie). He considers this contract to be his beginning of learning the world of music and its digital vs. local sales and his audience.

His desire is to enter into a music college (Kent State Univ.) with the hopes of progressing in his studies of drumming, keyboarding, compositions, multi-media, and production.

Other instuments I sometimes play are the lead guitar, bass guitar, and dance. I am trying out the vibrophone, I love it!

The music on this cd, is my new way of branching out with a little funky, exotic, and jazzy dance CLUB flavor! Wallflower will take some of you back to the days when the clubs were full of people that didn't dance but loved to check out the ones that did. Finally, when you get a chance to dance with that special one...you forget to get their number...lol!

"The Family" is dedicated to my grandfather that loved making his family into musicians to have his own band. So, me and my family created this song in the memory of my grandfather because family meant so much to him. Some of you out there may come from a family of musicians also. So, this song is dedicated those families as well...I hope you like.(smile)

"ALL THAT JAZZ," Here's my theory on, "What The Slop?!" If Stanley Clarke can make a song called, "Silly Putty," George Duke can make a song called, "Dukey Stick," and Funkadelics can make a song called, "Cosmic Slop" then I can make a song called, "What The Slop." Do you agree... (smile)

ALL THAT JAZZ is a flavor of old & new jazz coming together as contemporary music. ALL THAT JAZZ is my personal combination of the vibes, trumpet with soulful and expressive dabbling piano sounds in a form of "in the pocket" beats.

Earlier on, I had mentioned that I created and dedicated my song, "Feel The Vibe" to Roy Ayers. I like his style! I enjoy the vibes because it gives me the control of fluent sounds and the feel of a drummer making chords. Well, that's my take on this great instrument.

"Dwedie" was originally composed by my mom, Dr. Fuentes but needed to be finished and that's where I came in to make it into a song. "My NBA Dream" was composed for my dream besides music was to go to the NBA. I really love to play basketball as much as I love music.

This jazz CD brings my own style of the sweet sounds of love music and grooves into contemporary jazz.

"Mysterious Mission" is a song that I created by thinking of marching band cadences (drumline) and their music. So, that's why you can hear the explosions in my song.

"Heart Ache" was made when I thought about JENA 6 thinking that could have been me or my brother since we are so close to the age of all of them. So this song is dedicated to JENA 6!
