Terry Parisi is an organic farmer with a connection to land she calls sacred. Since her husband's recent death, Terry runs Parisi Family Farm with the help of her son, Franco, and siblings, to grow organic vegetables. Located just outside Madison, Wisconsin, she raises goats, as well as runs a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) for her farm’s members. Terry's connection to the land both inspires and challenges her as she devotes her life to nurturing the land that grows food as medicine for her community.
Terry is a guardian of the land and serves as an example for how we will all need to live, going forward, if we want to control the food we eat. We will have to come together in communities and grow it ourselves. Is what Terry does doable for the average person? She says, "I work like a dog, live like a pauper, but I eat like a king."
