Shiloh Musik, singer and songwriter for Baltimore-based band Fathom, has invented a genre he calls "RomantiCore." Shiloh is influenced by rock icons such as HIM, The Rasmus, and MUSE, as well as classical composers Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach. Fathom’s sound includes heavy guitars, haunting piano, and rocking grooves, with a good share of double kick. On top of that, add Shiloh’s heartfelt, often lamenting, vocals with an occasional scream, and you have the perfect mix of romantic and hardcore… RomantiCore.

    Thundermother ... Swedish Rock Band

    in Rock Music

Tonight Pop Art Painter Jamie Roxx (www.JamieRoxx.us) welcomes Filippa Nässil, lead guitarist and founder of the fantastic Swedish Rock Band, Thundermother, to the Show!
www.thundermother.com In 2014, Thundermother crashed into the Swedish national charts at #2 with their debut album, ‘Rock N’ Roll Disaster’ and are now set to release their sophomore effort, Road Fever. Hitting Lemon Studios in Klippan in May the band tracked five songs with Martin Ekeland then headed back to Stockholm to Cobra Studios to work with main engineer Martin Ehrencrona and with Nassil herself producing.  The vibe at Cobra fit Thundermother’s sound so well with its 70’s rock analog feel and original gear that the result was nothing less than spectacular.

    The Norwood Interview

    in Rock Music

I think folk music and punk music are the same. They're both socially conscious. They both call institutions out on their bullshit. They both aim to shake people up a bit. One just sounds harsher than the other. It physically hits harder and a bit messier at times. I feel at home doing both.  So I do both. - Chris Norwood
