Call in to speak with the host
2 Cellos Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser join host Robin Milling. The Croatian cellists made quite a sensation on You Tube with their dual cello interpretation of Smooth Criminal. If you haven't seen the video, chances are you live in a viral vacuum as they have gone above seven million hits.
Elton John took notice and gave the guys a call. Luka tells Robin he was shocked when he was summoned to the principal's office while attending The Royal Academy of Music in London to be told Sir Elton was on the phone. Since then it has been a whirlwind for them with touring, collaborating with their favorite musicians and meeting movie stars like Johnny Depp backstage at their concert.
Their new CD In2ition features notable guest stars Elton John rocking out on Fleetwood Mac's Oh Well, Steve Vai answering their cello with screaming guitars on AC/DC's Highway to Hell, and a reunion with Glee star Naya Rivera on Muse's Supermassive Black Hole. Stjepan jokes they had their two and half minutes of fame appearing on the show with Rivera to play Smooth Criminal.
Luka and Stjepan hope to collaborate with Sting and take their music to the big screen which is a natural fit for the emotional depth of their original compositions. Oh, and they also wouldn't mind meeting Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry..to be continued!
