    Date / Time:

    3-way trade including Tribe

    Wednesday Night a three way trade went down with The NY Mets, Seattle Mariners, and Cleveland Indians.  Here is how it broke down.

    Indians Get:  reliever Joe Smith from the Mets and 23-year-old second baseman Luis Valbuena from Seattle.

    Mariners Get: reliever Aaron Heilman, outfielder Endy Chavez, lefty Jason Vargas , three minor leaguers, and OF Franklin Gutierrez.

    Mets Get: Pitcher JJ  Putz, center fielder Jeremy Reed and reliever Sean Green

    Overall the Indians got a solid reliever in Joe Smith.  here are his stats: 6-3 3.55 ERA pitched 63 innings and is out of Cincinnati, OH.  Luis Valbuena is a young SS who had only 49 at bats last year batting  .245  with 1 RBI.  Could this guy be as good as Asdrubal Cabrera?  Only time will tell, but the Indians saw a young talented player that has potential.
