Cavaliers still hot, Browns season worse

The Cavaliers are still perfect at home going 8-0 with  a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder 117-82.  A team that has consistently scored over 110 points for the third consecutive game.  Is this team for real?  With a 12-3 record it is still to early to tell, but if I had an opinion this team is better than any other Cavs team i have seen lately.  Lebron will always have his 20 plus points.  Its other players that have been scoring in double digits and taking the load off of Lebron that will help win a championship.  Again vs Oklahoma City the Cavaliers had 6 players in double digits.  Versus New York 7 players scored in double digits.  The defense makes big rebounds, blocks, and stops when they need to so far this year.  Could this be the year? Email me primetimesports@hotmail.com.

The Browns season has gotten worse, with Brady Quinn injuring his throwing hand, and out the year, should Ken Dorsey get a shot?  Was it a mistake to try and give it a go when hBrady Quinn  knew how dangerous this was?  Yes, but he felt he had an opportunity and couldn't pass it up.  What do the Browns need to do to get back to the playoffs?  What offseason moves need to be made?  Email me at primetimesports@hotmail.com.  All emails will be read on my next show.  Also send comments, questions or concerns you ahve with the show.  Lets have some fun, and talk sports!

    Browns Fall to Texans 16-6

    Browns lose 16-6 to Texans

The Browns had a chance to get back into the AFC Central, but could not put up any points offensively other than a pair of field goals by kicker Phil Dawson.  The team overall showed no signs of life, and the Browns looked unprepared, as they let QB Sage Rosenfels go down the field on their first drive to score a touchdown to Kevin Walter.  The Texans then took a 7-0 lead. That was all the Texans would need, never trailing in the game.  Brady Quinn could not muster any offense throwing two interceptions before he was pulled for Derek Anderson.  No offense from Derek Anderson as well, throwing another interception.  It also didn't help when Braylon Edwards dropped 3-4 passes in crucial times. The defense had a bend but don't break attitude that kept the Browns in the game, but it was not enough.  The Browns (4-7) continue next Sunday versus Indy at home.  The Texans (4-7) take on Jacksonville at home.

    Stats:
    Houston Texans
    Sage Rosenfels-275 yards 1 TD 2 INT
    Receiving:
    A.Johnson- 10 rec 116 yards
    K. Walter- 7 rec 93 1 TD
    Rushing:
Steve Slaton: 21 rushes 73 Yards

    Cleveland Browns
    Brady Quinn-94 yards 2 INT
    Derek Anderson-51 yards 1 INT
    Rushing:
    Jamal Lewis-10 rushes 58 yards
    Jerome Harrison-7 rushes 31 yards

    Wide Receivers
    Braylon Edwards-5 rec-85 yards

Brady Quinn Injures Hand; DA to the Vikes?

    Brady Quinn injures throwing hand

Brady Quinn finally got to start a few games for the Browns.  One was a loss, but a good outing overall for his first start.  The second was a win at Buffalo on Monday Night football.  Now Brady Quinn has to deal with a break in his right index finger.  Doctors looked at it and has said he can still start for the Browns.  Romeo Crennel confirmed Brady will still start, and will have a splint on the finger throughout the week.  If he does start the doctor said it will not affect the finger worse.  Lets just hope Brady Quinn can heal this finger and show what he is really capable of doing.

    DA to the Vikings?

The Minnesota Vikings are in need of a quarterback.  Word is they already inquired about Brady Quinn earlier this season, and were willing to trade 2 first round picks this year and next.  The Browns turned it down.  Now the Vikings are looking at Derek Anderson.  Will the Browns trade DA?  I would have to say if the price is right, DA could be gone before the NFL Draft.

Cavaliers Fall to the Pistons 96-89. McDyess to sign with Cavs?

8 game winning streak done as Pistons top Cavs

After winning 8 games in a row, finally the Cavs ran out of steam.  Cleveland had a 49-38 lead at the half, to see it disappear in the third and fourth quarters.  Detroit won this game with their shooting.  As a team Detroit shot 50% from the floor and outscored the Cavaliers 58-40 in the second half, that proved to be the difference.  Allen Iverson led the Pistons with 23 points.  For Cleveland Lebron James and Mo Williams each scored 25 points.  The Cavaliers fall to 9-3 on the year while the Pistons move a game closer at 8-3.  Cleveland heads home to take on the Atlanta Hawks (7-4) on Saturday.  The Pistons travel to Boston.

    McDyess to sign with Cavs?

Much talk has been about a possible signing for the Cavs, with Power Forward Antonio McDyess.  Word is right now McDyess has narrowed the teams to 3, with Cleveland being in the running.  Right now The Pistons, Bobcats, and Cavaliers appear to be in the mix for the power forward.

Cavaliers take it to the Nets, 106-82

Cavaliers beat up on the Nets 106-82

With his contract up in 2010, Lebron James displayed just why the NJ Nets need him.  Scoring 31 points and leading the Cavs to their eighth straight win, Lebron put on a show for the New York Metropolitan Area.  With four players in double figures (Mo Williams 16, Delonte West 16, Zydrunas 13, and Lebron 31) the Cavaliers had a balanced attack from outside and inside.  Cleveland  shot 58% from behind the arc.  This team displayed why they better watch out in the east.  Defensively this looks to be the best the Cavaliers have looked in a long time, having 8 blocked shots, and 6 steals against the Nets.  New Jersey led after the first half 52-49, but could do nothing in the second half getting outscored in the third quarter 28-13. The Nets couldn't muster any offense as the Cavaliers win their eighth straight 106-82.

The Nets were led by Devin Harris scoring 23 points, and will travel to Toronto and fall to 4-5 on the young season.  As for the Cavaliers they travel to their rival, the Detroit Pistons.  The Cavs now have one of the best records in basketball at 9-2.
