“Rev UP with Rev. Alethea” airs on Tuesdays at 7 PM (EST) and is hosted by Rev. Dr. Alethea Smith-Withers. To talk to the host or a guest during the show, DIAL (845) 277-9346. This “keeping it real” show is about LIFE… and ministers to the people of God through all phases of their experience, even up to the Higher Life of the Spirit. So, topics for discussion include everything from pop culture to politics, sexuality to spirituality, education to economics. Rev. Alethea is the Founder and Pastor of the Pavilion of God – a Baptist Church located at 6401 Chillum Pl, NW, Washington, DC. She is an avowed seeker of truth and “revs up”, accelerates and energizes your thinking about life and all of its complexities and contradictions! In addition, to being a pastor, Rev. Alethea is a Pastoral Counselor and Imago Therapy Life Coach who shares her counseling insights about individual emotional healing, relationships, and parenting. She is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC), the national community of religious and spiritual people, denominations, and organizations from all faith traditions dedicated to achieving reproductive justice. This woman of God is also thankful to be a Breast Cancer “overcomer” and leads a faith-based ministry, STAND, that seeks to advance breast cancer awareness and prevention among African American women and women of color. From coast to coast, she provides leadership training for both ministers and lay leaders and is a professional facilitator and a frequent guest preacher. She is a wife, mother, and proud and doting grandmother.
