 More than 100,000 people in the United States identify themselves as "speakers", yet according to a recent survey, 85% of speakers make less than $10,000 a year from their activities associated with speaking.

A new seminar series aspires to change that statistic. WNBA Champion, international motivational speaker & Black Millionaires Summit co-founder, Dr. Fran Harris, is launching "Speak & Make Millions", a 3-day intensive workshop to teach entrepreneurs, current or aspiring speakers, authors, ministers, teachers and experts how to bank big money by building empires that leverage -- yet don't necessarily rely on -- their speaking abilities.

Harris had toyed around with the idea of hosting her own speaker training for nearly two years but recommitted herself after a fateful incident on vacation in Europe this past Spring. "I'd just finished a presentation in London and was heading to Italy to visit friends from my professional basketball days," said Harris. "Within 24 hours of landing I was sicker than a dog. I was coughing up a storm, I couldn't breathe, I was sniffling all over the place and on top of that, I lost my voice."

With no voice, Harris couldn't call her family to let them know she'd arrived safely. So she logged onto the Internet, sent them an email and checked her Paypal account. What she saw made her commit to teach others what she'd learned about making millions as a speaker. "On a day that I'd had a severe case of laryngitis and the worst cold of my life, I'd made $9,982 on autopilot." She wrote the outline for "Speak & Make Millions" on the 7-hour plane ride back to the States.
