From the Pulpit XXIV: Holy Week (Part I) Daily Crosses & What the Mass should Mean to Catholics

On this episode of From the Pulpit, we welcome Fr. Bernard Uttley, OSB, pastor of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in London, Ontario and host of our Restoration Radio Network show The Spiritual Life. First, Father will deliver a sermon presenting the importance of carrying our daily crosses. His second sermon will be on the Sacrifice of the Mass, what it should mean to us as Catholics, and how we can offer ourselves to God while assisting at Mass.

As much as it pains us sometimes to be reminded of this truth, life on earth is meant to be a purification, not a gratification. Whenever things are just not working out the way we would like (and how often does this happen!), let us always remember that we can gain great treasures in heaven by suffering our crosses patiently and bravely for God.

It is easy for us to fall into formalism: going to Mass and just running through the motions. We can be physically present at Mass but spiritually far, far away. Let us finish Lent with a big bang so we can celebrate Easter in the holiest and most pleasing manner to God!

Join us on this episode of From the Pulpit.
