Katherine White is an Elder in Kalpulli Teocalli Ollin and has been with Maestra Laura for 6 years, both as an Apprentice and as a Healer. A Kalpulli is a Community of Healers who work in the traditional style of Mexico. Katherine leads Ceremonies and Rituals, does Spiritual Cleansings, Platicas (heart to heart talks), Herbal Consultations and facilitates the Temazcal (Mexican style sweatlodge). Katherine is also a Reiki Practitioner and does Chakra Balancing Work.

Katherine grew up in Minnesota where she received a degree as a Registered Nurse. More than 35 yrs. ago, Katherine moved to New Mexico. Katherine has always loved gardening and always had a large flower and vegetable garden. Before she retired from Nursing, Katherine began to research medicinal plants and planted several in her yard. After retirement from 27 years in Nursing, Katherine began her studies in earnest. She studied for several years with Beverly McFarland, a local Herbalist, who teaches on their mountain in New Mexico and learned how to identify and use the plants that grow locally, as medicine. Katherine has received certificates for her apprenticeship program. She has also received a certificate for Dr. Tieraona Low Dog's program 'Foundations in Herbal Medicine'. She has studied with Rosemary Gladstar and has taken two, week-long programs of Herbal and Spiritual Study in Cuernavaca, Mexico at CEDEHC.  Katherine considers herself an Herbalist and a continuing student of Herbal Medicine. Katherine grows many of the plants that she uses in her medicines and feels that it is her personal relationship with her garden and these plants that enhances the power of the medicine. Katherine has given many presentations on medicinal herbs and medicine making.

Katherine is also a Poet, a Multi-Media Artist, a wife and a mother of two.
