Renee is the HR Career Coach for Professional Women Looking to Propel Ahead with a Strong Mentor

    Dear Ladies,
I find myself writing this blog to you, knowing fair well that I too have been in this position--knowing my value and worth, understanding politics within my organization, feeling underrepresented and neglected in terms of contributing value and that I felt alone in terms of "who could I talk to" about these limiting beliefs?

My name is Renee and I have been exposed to the best of the best and the worst of the worst--in terms of Leaders in the varied organizations in which I survived before going out on my own to become a Soloprenuer of my own Executive Career Coaching & HR Consulting Business--Empowering Inquiry by Renee, LLC (www.empoweringinquiry.com).  While my story is not all that unique, at 40 years old, I came to a point in my life that I wanted more--not job enlargement--more of the same--but, more meaningful work--job enrichment!  As I had asked for more, the universe gave it to me, more of the work that I didn't enjoy doing or wasn't all that good at.  What happens when you are doing things that you do not enjoy doing?  You fail!  As a Coach, failure is good...failure means that you have had multiple attempts and trials at doing something that you finally found out does not work.  The translation of failure is getting off a path of most resistance and changing tracks to least resistance.  Am I starting to confuse you?  Are you hearing things that are new in terms of concepts and connotation?  If you are saying "yes," that is good.

It is good to learn new things--every single day.  I personally am a self-pronounced Learner for Life.  I feel that you can not ever know everything, nor, should you act as if you do (unless you are on an interview and then I would tell you something different--"Fake it until you make it.").  It is humbling (and attractive to be humble) to know that you find out something new about yourself through a failure (or as I call it, a trial toward winning).  It really doesn't matter if you win or lose, as long as you have a winning attitude of gratitude.  I find that being thankful everyday for what I have is what propels me ahead.  Why is it important to be grateful?  Wont people think you are a servile sychophant (butt-kisser is the translation)? No!  I find it odd, perplexing and at times ridiculously sad that "we" as humans care what others think of us.  I am not supporting an existence in which we are exempt from others opinions and judgments and that we live in a non-civilized society of doing things that we want when we want and how we want without compromise or repercussion (sounds nice though doesn't it?).  Actually, what I am saying is that you need to have the confidence from within, quiet confidence, that allows you to know you are "whole" and "complete" with or without someone validating your existence.

This is where Women at times fail (again, failure is not a bad thing, right?).  Women that are "traditional" in belief and values tend to fall into a world in which they assume what they were told when they were young, either from their teachers, mothers, fathers, brothers, boyfriends, the media and anyone else that would project their own frame of reference upon someone else.  I was once that girl, who over time, rejected the parameters that someone else was setting for me--I became informed, educated, independent, determined, relentless, angry, happy, focused and authentic.  This all did not happen over night--failure was certainly sandwiched in deep in between the multi-layers of this parfait!

Women tend to believe what they are told and find that rejecting authority is anti-social behavior that has negative results that can take away from our own femininity.  Wow, what a concept of brain-wash or mind control...and we bought into it.  Now, I am not against dating, having a door opened for me, saying thank you, cooking my man a good home cooked meal, all that I am saying is we have backbone, so, lets flex it in the boardroom without becoming a castrating "bitch" but, becoming a woman with a message that is clear, emotion-free, although, with an emotionally intelligent manner of response that separates us from the primates and men in similar leadership roles that we absolutely repel and want to propel ahead as to not have to report to.

Empowering Inquiry by Renee, LLC is a Coaching & Consulting business in which, I can help you with the complex layers of your career.  I utilize either a Coaching/Counseling or Consulting methodology with you as my client--depending upon what it is that you seek.  Some people want advice; some--to be "cured"; others, a laundry list of things to do to improve their chances of success by someone that has the answers and wants to share.  Empowering is the operative word--Inquiry is the method by which I do that.  If I Coach you, I believe you have the answers within yourself.  I will ask you questions that allow you to "dig" deep within your "minds eye" and give you the space to "say what you know, but, may be afraid to say out loud since, you have not admited it nor articulated it yet."  How exciting!! A chance to articulate your dreams, passions, speak your truth--with another person, over the telephone, in which I will hold you accountable only to things that you decide are important to you and are your priorities.  This is how you grow and speak your truth and reach a success that you may or may not yet have experienced.  So, what are you waiting for?
