Call in to speak with the host
Christmas today is very commercialized. It speaks volumes when you actually take the time to create Christmas decor and gifts yourself. It shows the recipient that you took that extra step to make them feel special. Gifts and Decor can often be created from items that you may already have around your home. I recently ran across an old dingy white frame in my junk house. Because of the lattice designs, I decided to paint it holiday red to give it that festive look. The lattice allowed me to easily attach last years christmas ornaments. No longer is it a picture frame, but now it's a unique none traditional door hanger that looks great on the front door.
There'sThere's something about pine cones that I love!! I live the color, the texture, everything about them. They are paintable and can be used in a uncountable number of ways. I set out to gather pine cones as I thought about how I was going to use them this year. When picking fresh pine cones, you want to place them in a trash bag and spray with insecticide and let sit closed for at least 12hrs. Otherwise your going to have a really bad bug problem. I found a Christmas gift box and had the idea to build a Pine Cone Bouquet on top of it making it a 2 in 1 gift. You can use the gift box to house the present and the recipient can use the gift box as a centerpiece or accent for a chair side table or fireplace mantel. I am really proud of this project and actually featured it on Goid Morning Mississippi today! It was a fun and exciting venture once I got pass the jittery feeling. Remix Home Styling is making moves and I'm loving every minute if it. You can find pictures of my Pine Cone Bouquet & Gift Box on my Facebook page, Pinterest and Twitter accounts. I hope this inspires you to get crafting and creating those items that warms people's hearts.
