For better or for worse, real estate investment is mired in the law.  Legal statutes govern how you can purchase and also what you can do with your property after you own it.  You need to know and understand these laws or you could find yourself in some trouble.  It's particularly important to know the laws concerning landlord-tenant relationships and rent control.  Our guest on today's podcast, Monique Rad-Stein is an expert in real estate investing and law.  She's going to share with us her incredible real estate investing story and also a little about some legal issues to consider when investing.

Monique is the founding attorney for The Rad Firm, APC, a real estate and business law firm.  She maintains a portfolio of investment properties in Downtown Los Angeles and has overseen millions of dollars in real estate transactions.  Monique received her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2011 and was admitted to the bar in December 2011.  She believes in a holistic approach to practicing law that spans multiple practice areas.  Monique further applies this approach as an adjunct professor for the University of Southern California where she teaches an undergraduate course in law and ethics.
