Our lives and the world pulls us in many directions. A simple life is not so simple in today’s time. Between our family, friends and responsibilities our time is consumed. Much of our lives are spent toiling away in jobs that consume our every waking hour just to pay our bills. At times we may be searching for happiness or riches here on earth. But scripture teaches us John 6:27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.” We should not be working for perishable items, instead working for God in expanding His Kingdom. Working to please Him in our earthly duties that He has given us.

When we put our belief and trust in Him, we will want and desire to emulate Him. Jesus Christ did not come here to be served, but came to serve others. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords, and He shows us that titles mean nothing. It is what you do with your life, your talents, and your testimony that matters. Since all that we have is a gift from God, should not all that we do point to HIm?
