It still amazes me the revelation that can be in a few words. “You almost persuade me”. I am still astonished to how relevant words can be from two thousand years ago. Anyone that has witnessed to a friend or any person knows that when we share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we in some way are trying to persuade a change in the heart of that person. We do so for many reasons, love of that person, love of Christ and our Father, and obedience to the commandment to go forth and spread the word.
Sharing the Gospel is only one part of the Gospel ministry. Persuasion is the “man” component of the spreading of the word. That is to say that man can only persuade or convince others of a conviction, a realization that their life is not right or under the law of God they are guilty. At this point a person is an Almost Christian, there has been no real change in the heart of the person. A Real Christian is made by the power of divine Grace; A heart that is truly changed by the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
