Project Grand Slam (PGS) was formed in 2007. Their debut album, Play (Cakewalk Records 2008), featured the Top radio hit “The Captain Of Her Heart” with internationally renowned guest vocalist Judie Tzuke. In addition, PGS and five of the tracks from Play were featured in an episode of the hit NBC-TV series, “Lipstick Jungle”, starring Brooke Shields.  Play received rave reviews and was nominated for several Grammys.

PGS has just now released their new version of the classic Hollies hit, “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother”, with Special Guest Vocals by Joye Hennessey. The song is dedicated by the band for the benefit of the victims of child abuse, relating to the Penn State University sexual abuse scandal.

PGS immediately release “He Ain’t Heavy” as a single, ahead of the release of the album, and to donate proceeds from the song to Prevent Child Abuse Pennsylvania and RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network) for the benefit the victims of child abuse.

The song is available for download on iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon and all other major online retainers, and is also available for online streaming from Spotify, Napster, Amazon and others.

PGS's new album, featuring "He Ain't Heavy" and 8 other original tunes, will be released in early 2012.

The core members of PGS are Robert Miller (Electric Bass, Composer), Ron Thaler (Drums, Percussion), and Gilad Ronen (Saxophones, Composer). Each has significant and extensive musical credentials. “He Ain’t Heavy” also features guest artists Mike Eckroth (Keyboards), Danny Lerman (Saxophones), Justin Smith (Strings) and Joye Hennessey (Special Guest Vocals).
