Ed Donovan pioneered the first peer counseling program for Law Enforcement Officers in the World, the Boston Police Stress Program. Ed Donovan is a retired 32 year veteran Boston Police Officer who has produced, directed and appeared in documentaries and talk shows for over twenty years, including, including Oprah Winfrey and Phil Donahue, 20/20 and 60 Minutes. After retiring he moved to Florida and immediately got involved in Film and Television. He has spent the last 15 years as the Editor of Focus In newspaper and now In Focus Magazine, Florida’s Film, Television and the Arts Industry Magazine. The magazine is also linked internationally allowing readers to see what we are doing in Florida. Ed tirelessly promotes the directors, writers and producers of local independent films that have no outlet for publicity to promote their projects. He interviews the actors from LA, Ernie Borgnine, Jay leno, when they are here in Florida working. His biggest goal has been and always will be trying to promote the local artists and their projects. He also relentlessly spreads the word about trying to promote the incentive needed so badly to bring work to the Sunshine state. He is also a SAG actor who has worked in several independent films in Florida. He was cast in the film Monster with Oscar winner Charlize Theron. Ed was awarded the Best Supporting Actor in a Feature Film made in Florida at the Crystal Reel Awards in 2009.
